Role Summary:

AKG India Private Limited is seeking an experienced Engineer Machining to oversee VMC programming, process optimization, and shop-floor productivity. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in manual programming, tooling management, and Lean Manufacturing principles to drive quality, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Programming & Process Setup: Develop, test, and optimize manual VMC programs; conduct feasibility studies and assess manufacturability for new products.
- Process Optimization: Analyze and reduce cycle times; optimize cutting parameters, tool selection, and coolant management to extend tool life.
- Documentation & Planning: Prepare detailed process sheets, tooling layouts, standard operation instructions, and fixture plans.
- Productivity & Metrics: Track Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), machine utilization, and productivity metrics to minimize downtime.
- Quality & Troubleshooting:



Perform root cause analysis on machining defects and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Lean & Continuous Improvement: Lead Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the shop floor.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Design, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to meet execution targets safely and efficiently.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 46 years of hands-on experience in VMC machining.
- Proficient in manual VMC programming, engineering drawing interpretation, and GD&T; applications.
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, fixtures, and machining parameters.
- Proven track record in cycle time reduction, tool life optimization, and OEE improvement.
- Practical exposure to Current Product Development (NPD) process feasibility studies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.
