Required Skills & Experience

- Master's or Ph.D. in Power Electronics, Drives, or related field
- Strong C++ programming experience including arrays, pointers, structures, and classes
- Embedded systems design, development, and testing experience
- Robust expertise with PLECS and MATLAB/Simulink modeling and simulation tools
- Experience designing, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting power electronic circuits
- Knowledge of communication protocols including SDI and EGD
- PCB design experience using KiCAD

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience developing cloud-connected embedded solutions
- GUI development experience using C++, Vision, or NI tools
- Understanding of wind turbine systems and applications
- Experience working with electric machines and renewable energy technologies

Insight Global is seeking an Embedded System Developer (Power Electronics) for a leading research and engineering organization. This candidate will support the design, development, and testing of embedded systems for advanced power electronics and drives applications. The ideal individual will have a strong background in C++ development, embedded systems,



power electronics, and simulation tools such as PLECS and MATLAB/Simulink.

This role will be heavily involved in system modeling, communication interface development, cloud connectivity, hardware/software integration, and the testing of next-generation technologies supporting renewable energy, electric machines, and industrial applications.

Day-to-Day:

- Design, develop, and test embedded system applications using C++
- Develop PTP communication interfaces and transfer data to cloud databases
- Build basic GUI applications for data visualization and user interaction
- Design, assemble, test, and troubleshoot power electronic circuits
- Perform modeling and simulation of power electronic converters using PLECS and MATLAB/Simulink
- Model device characteristics, thermal performance, and cooling systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams supporting wind turbine and electric machine applications
- Maintain project documentation, version control, technical reports, and project updates
