Position: Electrical Purchase Engineer

1. Job Purpose

Responsible for procurement of electrical, automation and control-panel components as per technical specifications, project requirements and production schedules, ensuring the best combination of quality, cost and timely delivery.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Procurement

- Procure electrical and automation components as per BOM, drawings and project requirements.
- Handle procurement of:
- MCCB, MCB, ACB, contactors, relays and overload relays
- PLC, HMI, VFD, servo drives and automation components
- SMPS, timers, counters and control components
- Push buttons, selector switches, indication lamps
- Terminal blocks, cable glands, lugs and ferrules
- Electrical cables and wires
- Busbars, copper and aluminium materials
- CT/PT, meters and electrical measuring instruments
- Panels, enclosures and electrical accessories
- Fans, heaters and panel cooling accessories
- Control transformers and power supplies
- Other electrical and panel-related materials

Purchase & Vendor Management
- Receive Purchase Requisitions and BOM requirements from Engineering, PPC and Production.
- Float enquiries/RFQs to approved and new vendors.
- Obtain and compare quotations based on price, specification, quality and delivery.
- Prepare Comparative Statements (CS).
- Negotiate price, payment terms, credit period and delivery schedules.
- Generate Purchase Orders after obtaining necessary approvals.
- Develop new vendors and alternate sources for critical electrical components.
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers.

Technical Coordination
- Understand electrical BOMs, specifications, datasheets and basic electrical drawings.




- Coordinate with Electrical Design/Engineering for clarification of technical specifications.
- Ensure the correct make, model, rating and quantity are purchased.
- Identify equivalent/alternative components only after technical approval.

Delivery & Follow-up
- Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of materials.
- Track open Purchase Orders and pending materials.
- Coordinate with Stores, PPC and Production regarding material requirements.
- Give priority to urgent/critical production and project materials.
- Escalate delays and shortages to the Purchase Manager.

Quality & Supplier Coordination
- Coordinate with QC/QA for incoming material inspection.
- Handle supplier quality issues and rejected materials.
- Follow up for replacement or corrective action against rejected material.
- Monitor vendor quality and delivery performance.

Cost Reduction
- Negotiate with suppliers for competitive prices.
- Conduct market surveys for electrical components.
- Develop alternate vendors and approved equivalent products.
- Identify opportunities for purchase cost reduction.
- Maintain records of price comparison and cost savings.

ERP & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain PR, RFQ, quotation, Comparative Statement and PO records.
- Update purchase transactions in ERP.
- Maintain vendor database and supplier documents.
- Track purchase order status and pending deliveries.
- Coordinate with Accounts regarding invoices and vendor payment issues.

1. Qualification

- Diploma / B.E.



/ B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in electrical purchase/procurement.
- Experience in electrical panel manufacturing, switchgear, automation or industrial electrical equipment will be preferred.

- MCC/PCC panels
- Control panels
- PLC & automation components

- Electrical ratings and specifications
- Electrical BOM and datasheets
- Different electrical brands and equivalent products

Salary : 30,000-35,000

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
