Job Summary The EHS Junior Supervisor supports the implementation and maintenance of Environment, Health, and Safety programs to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements. The role focuses on promoting a safe workplace, minimizing environmental impact, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine safety inspections and workplace audits.
- Monitor compliance with EHS policies, SOPs, and GMP requirements.
- Assist in identifying hazards and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by employees and contractors.
- Conduct safety inductions and toolbox talks for employees and visitors.
- Report, investigate, and document incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Monitor waste segregation, hazardous waste handling, and environmental compliance.
- Support fire safety systems, emergency response activities, and mock drills.
- Maintain EHS records, permits, inspection reports, and statutory documentation.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure secure work practices.
- Monitor contractor safety during maintenance and project activities.
- Participate in risk assessments such as HIRA/JSA before critical activities.
- Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management system implementation and internal audits.
- Ensure compliance with local environmental, occupational health, and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Diploma/PG Diploma in Industrial Safety is preferred.
Experience
- 13 years of EHS experience in the pharmaceutical, API, formulation, chemical, or manufacturing industry.
- Freshers with relevant internships or industrial training may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of GMP, EHS regulations, and industrial safety practices.
- Understanding of fire safety and emergency response procedures.
- Familiarity with HIRA, JSA, incident investigation, and CAPA.
- Good documentation and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
