- Commission and develop commercially viable non-fiction titles
- Evaluate proposals and manuscripts for editorial, commercial, and market potential
- Work closely with authors to develop manuscripts through the developmental editing stage.
- Prepare editorial briefs and guide projects through every stage of the publishing process.
- Work with in-house and freelance designers on cover concepts and other design requirements.
- Work closely with the copyediting team to ensure editorial quality and consistency.
- Liaise with production, marketing, sales, rights, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Prepare title positioning notes, cover briefs, back cover copy, and other editorial support material as required.
- Stay updated on publishing trends and emerging opportunities in the non-fiction market.
What We’re Looking For
- 4–6 years of editorial experience, preferably in trade publishing.
- Prior experience in commissioning and developing non-fiction titles is highly preferred.
- Project management and organizational skills to manage multiple titles simultaneously.
- Experience in coordinating with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to editorial quality.
- Positive attitude, solution-oriented approach, and ability to work in a fast-paced publishing setting.
