Position: Electrical Design Engineer – Solar/Renewable Energy

Job SummaryKosol Energie Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer with strong experience in solar PV design and EPC projects. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing electrical systems for rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities1. Design & Engineering

- Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and electrical layouts.
- Design DC and AC electrical systems for solar PV projects.
- Perform string sizing and inverter selection.
- Design earthing and lightning protection systems.
- Develop detailed electrical engineering drawings.

2. Technical Calculations

- Perform cable sizing and voltage-drop calculations.
- Carry out transformer and inverter sizing.
- Conduct load analysis and system capacity planning.
- Perform short-circuit calculations and protection coordination for large-scale projects.

3. Software & Tools

- Prepare electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Perform solar system simulations using PVsyst / HelioScope.
- Use MS Excel for engineering calculations, BOQ preparation, and data analysis.
- Knowledge of ETAP will be an added advantage.

4. Project Coordination

- Coordinate with Project Execution, Procurement, and other internal teams.




- Provide technical support to site engineers during installation and commissioning.
- Review vendor drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documents.
- Coordinate with consultants and vendors as required.

5. Documentation

Prepare and maintain

- Detailed engineering drawings
- Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
- Cable schedules
- Technical specifications
- Electrical design calculations
- Other project-related technical documentation

Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Solar PV Electrical System Design.
- Good understanding of LT/HT electrical systems.
- Practical knowledge of solar EPC project execution and engineering.
- Familiarity with applicable Indian standards and regulations, including:
- MNRE guidelines
- Central Electricity Authority (CEA) regulations
- Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Positive communication, coordination, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple project requirements and deliver work within timelines.

Qualification
- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- Certification in Solar PV Design / Renewable Energy will be an added advantage.
