Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced CSA Construction Lead to lead and manage all Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) construction activities for a large-scale industrial project under a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) setup.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing complex construction projects, with preference given to candidates who have worked on Semiconductor, Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, or large-scale industrial/manufacturing projects.
The role will involve overall responsibility for CSA construction planning, execution, coordination, quality, safety, progress monitoring, contractor management, and successful delivery of the project in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. CSA Construction Leadership
- Lead and oversee all Civil, Structural, and Architectural construction activities from enabling works through completion and handover.
- Provide overall construction leadership and technical direction for CSA packages.
- Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
- Establish priorities and coordinate construction activities to achieve project milestones.
- Monitor overall site progress and proactively address construction challenges and constraints.
2. Civil & Structural Works
- Oversee foundations, piling, excavation, earthworks, RCC works, structural steel, equipment foundations, slabs, roads, drainage, utilities, and associated civil works.
- Review structural drawings, shop drawings, construction methodologies, and technical submissions.
- Coordinate structural works with MEP, process equipment, utilities, and specialist systems.
- Ensure proper sequencing of structural and civil works to support overall project requirements.
- Monitor structural construction quality and ensure compliance with approved specifications.
3. Architectural & Finishing Works
- Lead architectural and finishing activities including internal/external finishes, flooring, ceilings, partitions, doors, faade, waterproofing, painting, and associated works.
- Coordinate architectural requirements with structural, MEP, process, and specialist contractors.
- Review architectural shop drawings and material submittals.
- Ensure finishes meet project specifications, quality standards, and approved samples/mock-ups.
4. Semiconductor / High-Tech Facility Coordination For candidates with semiconductor or other high-tech facility experience:
- Coordinate CSA requirements for cleanroom, process areas, utility buildings, fab-related facilities, and controlled environments.
- Coordinate equipment foundations, openings, penetrations, embeds, trenches, pits, raised floors, and other process-related interfaces.
- Manage complex interfaces between CSA works and process equipment, MEP systems, and specialist installations.
- Ensure construction sequencing supports installation of critical process and MEP systems.
5. Data Centre Construction For Data Centre projects:
- Manage CSA construction activities associated with data halls, technical spaces, utility buildings, electrical rooms, generators, cooling infrastructure, and support facilities.
- Coordinate structural and architectural requirements for mission-critical areas.
- Ensure construction activities support critical project milestones and commissioning requirements.
6. Pharma / Industrial Construction
- Manage construction activities for pharmaceutical manufacturing, clean utility, warehouse, production, laboratory, and support facilities.
- Coordinate architectural and civil requirements associated with controlled environments and specialist manufacturing areas.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable industry standards.
7. PMC & Contractor Management
- Act as the key CSA construction interface between the Client, PMC, Design Consultants, Main Contractors, Subcontractors, and Vendors.
- Review contractor construction methodologies, work programmes, shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Lead construction coordination meetings and drive timely resolution of site issues.
- Monitor manpower, equipment, materials, and productivity.
8. Construction Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Coordinate with Planning/Project Controls teams to establish and monitor CSA construction schedules.
- Review contractor programmes and ensure alignment with overall project milestones.
- Monitor critical path activities and identify potential delays.
- Develop recovery strategies and mitigation plans where required.
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress.
9. Quality Management
- Ensure CSA works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, and quality standards.
- Review and monitor Inspection & Test Plans and quality documentation.
- Ensure timely inspection and approval of construction works.
- Monitor NCRs, observations, defects, and punch points and ensure timely closure.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspections, testing, and approvals.
10. HSE Management
- Ensure all construction activities comply with project HSE requirements and statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with the HSE team to identify construction risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Monitor contractor compliance with approved safety procedures.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the project site.
11. Design & Construction Interface
- Coordinate closely with the Design Management team to resolve design-related construction issues.
- Identify design gaps, discrepancies, constructability issues, and interface conflicts.
- Ensure RFIs and technical queries are resolved within the required timeframe.
- Review design changes for construction impact and coordinate implementation at site.
12. Testing, Completion & Handover
- Coordinate CSA completion activities, inspections, snagging, punch-list closure, and final acceptance.
- Ensure timely completion of as-built drawings and project documentation.
- Coordinate handover documentation, warranties, test certificates, and O&M; requirements where applicable.
- Support project close-out and final handover to the Client.
Preferred Project Experience Priority will be given to candidates with PMC / Project Management Consultancy experience in:
- Semiconductor manufacturing facilities
- Data Centres / Mission-Critical Facilities
- Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences facilities
- Large-scale industrial manufacturing projects
- Advanced manufacturing facilities
- Greenfield industrial projects
- Large-scale infrastructure and utility facilities
Candidates with experience managing large and complex greenfield projects with multiple contractors and significant CSA interfaces will be preferred. Education & Experience
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering / relevant discipline.
- Postgraduate qualification or qualified certification will be an advantage.
Experience:
- 15+ years of overall construction experience.
- Strong experience in Civil, Structural & Architectural construction management.
- Significant experience in PMC / Project Management Consultancy / Engineering Consultancy.
- Experience leading large-scale construction packages is essential.
- Semiconductor, Data Centre, Pharma, or large-scale industrial experience will be highly preferred.
