ABOUT TUTORCLOUD

TutorCloud is an AI powered learning platform for K-12, built by educators with more than twenty years in education technology. It brings students, teachers, schools and families into one place. Students get adaptive AI tutoring that works at their own pace and never simply hands over the answer.

Teachers get iTEMA, a workspace that takes lesson planning, assessment and grading off their evenings. Parents and school leaders get a clear, current view of progress rather than a report at the end of term.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You own everything that happens after someone signs up: activation, engagement, referral and retention. Paid media brings users in. You make them come back, get value quickly, upgrade, and bring other people with them.

This is a build role, not a maintenance one. Much of what you will own does not exist yet, so you will design it, write the specification, work with Product and engineering to ship it, and then own whether it works. You will run it as a programme with your own KPIs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

– Own the referral programme end to end. Design the mechanics and incentives, specify them with Product, launch, then grow the loop. Rewards span discounts, premium content unlocks and shareable leaderboards.

– Own activation. Define what a good first session looks like for a teacher and for a parent, instrument it, and keep improving it.

– Own engagement and daily return. Work with Product on streaks, practice goals, parent progress digests and teacher class reports, so the product earns a repeat visit.

– Write the gamification and referral specifications that Product and engineering build from, with events, states and edge cases defined.

– Build and run lifecycle journeys across both markets: onboarding, activation, trial to paid, upgrade, win-back and reactivation.

WhatsApp leads in India; email and push lead in the United States. Same journeys and triggers, different doorway.

– Own segmentation, cohort analysis and engagement scoring, so every user group stays measurable and every campaign can be judged.

– Own checkout and cart recovery with the inside sales desks, and the hand-off that routes engaged teacher clusters to our school sales team.

– Run a continuous A/B testing cadence on journeys, incentives, timing, channel and copy. Kill what does not move the metric and scale what does.

– Report weekly on the numbers you own and drive the actions that follow. Outcomes, not activity.

– Use AI tools to build journeys faster, generate and personalise content at scale, and automate reporting.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

– 5 to 7 years in CRM, lifecycle, retention or growth marketing for a consumer app or subscription product with a live user base.

– You have built a referral or invite loop that worked, and can explain honestly why it worked and where it leaked.

– Hands-on with a marketing automation platform. We use MoEngage for B2C and HubSpot for B2B. Experience with WebEngage, CleverTap, Braze, Netcore or Salesforce Marketing Cloud is equally welcome; we care that you build journeys yourself rather than brief someone else.

– Multi-channel execution: WhatsApp through a provider such as Karix or Gupshup, plus email, push and in-app.

– You write specifications.

You can turn a growth idea into something a product manager and an engineer can build without a second conversation.

– Strong analytical skill. SQL, or a strong command of a product analytics tool such as Mixpanel, Amplitude or CleverTap Analytics. You instrument before you launch.

– Experimentation discipline. You size a test, run it clean, read it honestly and act on it.

– Judgement on incentives. You know how a referral scheme gets gamed and you design against it without killing the loop.

– Fluent with current AI tools and clear about where they save real time and where they do not.

– Ownership. You set your own targets, chase them without being chased, and say plainly when something is not working.

VALUABLE TO HAVE

– App-based consumer businesses: D2C, quick commerce or edtech. Edtech preferred, and K-12 experience is a strong plus.

– Freemium to paid conversion experience, especially with a usage-limited free tier.

– Exposure to both Indian and United States consumer audiences.

– Having worked closely with a product team on growth features rather than only on campaigns.

WHAT THE FIRST SIX MONTHS LOOK LIKE

– Months 1 to 2: funnel instrumented end to end, activation baselined, and the first lifecycle journeys live in both markets.

– Months 3 to 4: referral programme specified, built with Product and launched, with the incentive design tested.

– Months 5 to 6: measurable lift in activation and repeat usage, referral contributing a growing share of new users, and a testing calendar running on its own rhythm.

WHY JOIN

– A real build brief. You are not inheriting someone else's stack; you are designing the engine.

– Direct line to Product and engineering, and a leadership team that has built and sold education businesses before.

– Two live markets, India and the United States, in the same role.
