Project Brief The project, “IPD Analysis of Hypothyroidism in Pregnancy: Prevalence, Risk Factors and Maternal and Fetal Outcomes in India,” funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), will undertake an individual participant data analysis to examine the prevalence and determinants of hypothyroidism during pregnancy and its association with maternal and fetal outcomes.
The project involves collaboration and coordination with participating studies and institutions, including harmonisation and management of participant-level data, data analysis, quality assurance and synthesis of findings to generate evidence relevant to maternal health in India.
Job Summary The Project Technical Support –
- III will provide technical, data management, research coordination and communication support to the PRS-III, PI,Co-PI, and senior research team. The position will support data management and analysis, biological sample management, coordination with study partners, preparation of project documentation and reports, and research communication and outreach activities.
Deliverables The major duties and responsibilities will include:
- Research and analysis support
- Provide technical and data management support to the Project Research Scientist (PRS-III) and the senior research team.
- Assist with literature searches and evidence synthesis relevant to hypothyroidism in pregnancy, its risk factors, and maternal and fetal outcomes.
- Support the collection, processing, labelling, storage, tracking and transportation of blood samples, where required, in accordance with study protocols, laboratory procedures and biosafety requirements.
- Conduct routine checks for missing data, inconsistencies, outliers and other data quality issues, and support their resolution with the relevant study partners.
- Maintain systematic records of datasets, data transfers, data queries, data cleaning processes and other project documentation.
- Assist with descriptive and statistical analyses under the guidance of the PRS-III, PI and statistical team, including preparation of tables, figures and analysis outputs.
- Ensure appropriate adherence to data confidentiality, ethical requirements,
study protocols and institutional policies governing the use and management of participant-level data.
- Undertake technical, data management and co-ordination activities assigned by the PI or project leadership.
- Preparing project documents and reports
- Support the preparation of manuscripts, technical reports, presentations, research briefs and other outputs.
- Assist with preparation and compilation of ICMR progress reports and other funder-related documentation.
- Support preparation of study-related documentation, including data management records, analysis documentation and other project trackers.
- Support the PI and research team in content development and research communication, including materials for presentations, reports, newsletters, website updates and dissemination activities.
- Co-ordination with study partner
- Co-ordinate with study partners and collaborating institutions regarding data sharing, variable clarification, data queries and resolution of inconsistencies.
- Follow up with participating studies to support timely receipt, clarification and completion of datasets and study information.
- Facilitate communication between the project team and collaborating partners on technical and operational requirements.
- Maintain systematic records of partner communication, data requests, data transfers and follow-up actions.
- Communications and outreach
- Manage and support the social media activities, including planning and developing content, drafting and scheduling posts, preparing supporting materials and disseminating findings, activities and outputs.
- Assist with podcast co-ordination, including co-ordinating recordings, and supporting promotion and dissemination.
- Events and co-ordination
- Organise and co-ordinate workshops, meetings, training programmes and other project events, including participant co-ordination, venue arrangements, travel, accommodation, meeting materials and other logistical requirements.
- Assist with co-ordination of investigator meetings and project meetings, including preparation of agendas, presentations and meeting materials.
- Support the co-ordination of project-related activities across the research team and collaborating institutions.
- Any other activities as delegated by the PI/Co-PI
Education
Essential
- Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, Health Sciences, Statistics, Data Science or a related discipline from a recognised university/institution.
Experience
Essential
- Relevant 0-1 years of experience in research, data management, public health/clinical research or project coordination.
- Basic knowledge of research methods, data management and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel,
Word and PowerPoint.
- Good written and verbal communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Experience in data cleaning, quality checks and preparation of datasets for statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with R, Stata or SPSS.
- Experience with biological sample management, particularly blood sample collection, processing, storage, tracking or transportation.
- Experience coordinating with multiple study sites, investigators or research partners.
- Experience in research communication, social media management, content development or science communication.
- Experience organising workshops, meetings, training programmes or research dissemination events.
