Cohesity Data Protection Engineer
Role Summary
We are looking for a Cohesity Data Protection Engineer to manage enterprise backup and recovery services across on-premises and cloud-connected environments. The engineer will administer Cohesity DataProtect, monitor backups, perform restores, troubleshoot issues, and help ensure data availability, security and recoverability.
Key Responsibilities
· Administer, configure, monitor, upgrade and maintain Cohesity DataProtect, Cohesity clusters and Helios.
· Create and manage protection policies, Protection Groups, retention, backup windows, replication, cloud archival, RPO and RTO requirements.
· Protect and recover VMware, Nutanix AHV, Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows/Linux servers, NAS shares, databases and supported applications.
· Monitor backup jobs, alerts, platform health, capacity, performance and SLA compliance.
· Troubleshoot backup and recovery issues, perform root-cause analysis and work with Cohesity Support when required.
· Perform restores and recovery testing to confirm data recoverability.
· Support security controls, encryption, immutability and ransomware-resilience requirements.
· Maintain technical documentation and coordinate with infrastructure, application, database, cloud and security teams.
Required Skills
· Hands-on experience with Cohesity DataProtect in an enterprise environment.
· Good understanding of Cohesity clusters, nodes, source registration,
protection policies, Protection Groups, SLAs, replication, archival, alerts and recovery workflows.
· Knowledge of backup concepts including full and incremental backups, retention, RPO, RTO, disaster recovery and recovery validation.
· Experience with VMware, Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V, Windows/Linux, NAS and database backup and recovery.
· Working knowledge of DNS, NTP, Active Directory, certificates, networking, firewall ports and service accounts.
· Knowledge of SMB/NFS and cloud archival with Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
· Ability to analyze logs, alerts, support bundles, capacity and performance issues.
· Good troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills.
Experience and Qualifications
· 3+ years of enterprise backup and recovery experience, including hands-on Cohesity administration.
· Experience with Veeam, Commvault or NetBackup is an added advantage.
· Exposure to Cohesity SmartFiles, CloudArchive, Security Center, FortKnox, REST APIs or application-aware backups is desirable.
Candidate Profile A hands-on engineer who can independently manage the Cohesity platform, perform reliable recoveries, troubleshoot technical issues and communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
