School Career Counsellor Position - Career Counsellor

Job Purpose To guide and support students in making informed decisions about their academic subjects, career choices, and higher education pathways based on their interests, strengths, abilities, and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide individual and group career counselling to students.
- Conduct career and aptitude assessments to understand students interests, strengths, and career preferences.
- Guide students on subject selection, academic pathways, and future career options.
- Provide guidance on universities, colleges, courses, scholarships, and admission requirements in India and overseas.
- Support students with university applications, essays, personal statements, interviews, and admission processes.
- Maintain individual career plans and counselling records for students.
- Organise career fairs, university visits, career talks, workshops, and information sessions.
- Coordinate with universities and external career guidance organisations.
- Conduct parent counselling sessions and keep parents informed about higher education opportunities and pathways.
- Work closely with teachers, coordinators,



school leadership, and pastoral teams to support student development.
- Stay updated on university admission trends, entrance examinations, scholarships, and emerging career opportunities.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all school safeguarding and student wellbeing policies.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelors/Masters Degree Counselling, Education, Career Counselling , or a related field.
- Certification in Career Counselling is preferred.
- 1 3 years of relevant experience , preferably in a school or international school.
- Experience in university counselling/admissions is highly desirable.
