About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer / Backend TechOps Engineer with strong expertise in Python, PostgreSQL, SQL, and AWS .

The ideal candidate will have a robust database background and hands-on experience troubleshooting and supporting production applications across legacy on-premise and modern AWS cloud environments .

Key Responsibilities

- Take ownership of production application continuity , troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
- Develop, maintain, and debug backend applications using Python, Java, SQL, and PostgreSQL .
- Write, read, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures .
- Investigate issues across application, database, infrastructure, and cloud layers.
- Work with PostgreSQL / AWS RDS for database development, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot and maintain legacy Java and Python applications backed by PostgreSQL.
- Work with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Kinesis, IAM, and API Gateway.
- Understand and troubleshoot Apache Airflow DAGs, scheduling, orchestration, and pipeline failures .
- Analyze existing on-premise solutions and identify opportunities for cloud migration and modernization .
- Collaborate with Tech Leads and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define implementation approaches.
- Develop and integrate new features while ensuring minimal impact on existing production systems.




- Perform unit testing, functional testing, integration testing , and production validation.
- Follow defined SDLC, deployment, and production release processes .
- Work with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, AWS CodePipeline , or similar.
- Troubleshoot ETL/data pipelines and production workflows.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of system reliability, performance, and operational processes.

Must-Have Skills
- 9–10+ years of backend/software development experience
- Strong expertise in Python
- Strong expertise in SQL and PostgreSQL / PL/pgSQL
- Hands-on experience with complex queries, stored procedures, functions, debugging, and database troubleshooting
- Strong production troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience
- Experience working with AWS cloud services
- Hands-on experience with AWS RDS
- Good understanding of Apache Airflow , DAGs, scheduling, and troubleshooting
- Experience working with Java-based legacy applications
- Experience with Linux / Bash scripting
- Experience with GitLab, GitHub, AWS CodePipeline , or similar CI/CD tools
