We’re Hiring | Backend/Cloud & FOTA Engineer

Boltt is looking for a hands-on Backend/Cloud & FOTA Engineer to take technical ownership of the cloud and backend infrastructure powering our smartphone ecosystem.

Function: Smartphone Software/Cloud Infrastructure

What You’ll Work On

- Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure (Mumbai Region) and production environments.
- Own backend APIs, databases, and device-to-cloud integrations.
- Manage OTA/FOTA platforms, firmware deployment and OTA campaigns.
- Monitor server health, application logs, API performance and device communication.
- Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with vendors/ODM teams for resolution.
- Implement AWS IAM, access controls, security and credential management.
- Manage staging, UAT and production environments with appropriate change control.
- Work closely with Android/ROM and QA teams for production OTA releases.
- Maintain infrastructure, API, deployment and system architecture documentation.
- Gradually bring routine backend and infrastructure operations in-house from external technology partners.

What We’re Looking For





- 4–7 years of experience in Backend and/or Cloud Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (Mumbai/India Region).
- Experience with Linux server administration.
- Robust understanding of Backend/API development and REST APIs.
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Good knowledge of Git, CI/CD, monitoring, logging and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of AWS IAM, security and access controls.

Good to Have

- Experience in Smartphones, IoT or connected devices.
- Hands-on experience with OTA/FOTA or device-management platforms.
- Experience managing large fleets of connected devices.
- Knowledge of Android device/server integration.
- Experience working with Chinese ODMs, IDHs or technology vendors.

This is more than a traditional backend development role — you’ll be working at the intersection of smartphones, cloud infrastructure, device communication and remote software/firmware deployment.
