About the RoleCohnReznick is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Audit Senior to join our growing Renewable Energy Audit Practice based in Chennai. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of renewable energy clients, including solar, wind, battery storage, and other clean energy companies across the United States.

The Audit Senior will be responsible for executing and managing audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, U.S. auditing standards, and firm methodologies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in external audits, financial reporting, client relationship management, and mentoring staff.

Key Responsibilities





- Lead and execute financial statement audits and reviews for renewable energy clients.
- Perform and supervise audit procedures, including risk assessment, internal control testing, and substantive testing.
- Prepare, review, and manage audit documentation and workpapers in accordance with professional standards.
- Analyze financial statements and disclosures to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and firm requirements.
- Identify accounting, reporting, and audit issues and propose practical solutions.
- Coordinate with client personnel to obtain audit evidence and resolve audit findings.
- Monitor engagement progress, budgets, and deadlines while providing status updates to Managers and Partners.
- Mentor, coach, and review the work of Associates and Experienced Associates.
- Participate in technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards.
- Contribute to process improvements and audit quality initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and responsiveness.

Required Qualifications
- CPA (US) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- 3 to 4 years of post-qualification experience in External Audit or Audit & Assurance.




- Solid experience managing end-to-end audit engagements from planning through issuance.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, and audit methodologies.
- Experience performing risk assessment, internal control testing, substantive procedures, and analytical reviews.
- Strong exposure to audit documentation and workpaper preparation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with audit software and related technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience auditing Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, Power & Utilities, Project Finance, or related industries.
- Experience working with U.S.-based clients and multinational audit engagements.
- Knowledge of renewable energy project structures, tax equity arrangements, debt financing, and operating partnerships.
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior audit professionals.
