Role & responsibilities
ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Quality Planning & Control
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures for construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, method statements, and applicable codes.
- Review relevant drawings, specifications, and quality requirements before commencement of activities.
- Prepare and maintain inspection and quality control records for project activities.
- Coordinate with site teams to ensure quality requirements are clearly understood and followed.
- Identify potential quality issues at an early stage and recommend preventive measures.
1. Material Quality Inspection & Control
- Inspect construction materials received at site to ensure compliance with approved specifications and quality requirements.
- Verify material test certificates, manufacturer certificates, approvals, and other relevant quality documents.
- Coordinate with Stores and Site Teams regarding material inspection, acceptance, rejection, and proper storage.
- Ensure only approved materials are used for construction activities.
- Maintain records of material inspections and test reports.
- Raise and report quality concerns related to non-conforming or damaged materials.
1. In-Process Inspection & Workmanship Monitoring
- Conduct regular inspections of ongoing construction activities and workmanship.
- Monitor quality of civil, structural, architectural, and finishing works as applicable to the project.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Inspect critical activities at appropriate stages before proceeding to subsequent activities.
- Identify defects, deviations, and workmanship issues and coordinate for timely rectification.
- Carry out re-inspection after corrective actions to ensure proper closure.
1. Testing & Inspection
- Coordinate and monitor required material and construction testing as per project specifications and applicable standards.
- Ensure necessary tests are conducted at appropriate stages of construction.
- Review test results and identify deviations from specified acceptance criteria.
- Maintain records of test reports, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
- Coordinate with approved laboratories / testing agencies wherever external testing is required.
- Ensure testing and inspection activities are properly documented and traceable.
1. Quality Documentation & Records
- Prepare, maintain, and update quality-related documentation throughout the project.
- Maintain Inspection Requests / Inspection Checklists / Test Reports / Material Inspection Records / Quality Registers and other relevant records.
- Maintain proper records of approvals, inspections, observations, corrective actions, and closures.
- Ensure quality documentation is systematically filed and readily available for project review and handover.
- Support preparation and compilation of quality documents required for project completion and handover.
1. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action
- Identify and document non-conformities, defects, deviations, and quality-related issues.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Contractors, and Subcontractors for corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor corrective actions until satisfactory closure.
- Conduct re-inspection of rectified works and verify compliance.
- Maintain proper records of non-conformance reports and corrective actions.
- Analyse recurring quality issues and recommend measures to prevent their repetition.
1. Site Quality Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Site Engineers, Project Managers, Planning Team, Architecture Team, MEP Team, Contractors, and Subcontractors regarding quality requirements.
- Participate in site inspections and quality review meetings.
- Provide technical guidance to site teams regarding quality requirements and execution standards.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to approved quality procedures.
- Escalate critical quality issues to the Project Head / QA-QC Head / Project Manager.
1. Project Lifecycle Quality Monitoring
- Monitor quality requirements from the initial stages of project execution through completion and handover.
- Ensure quality control requirements are incorporated before commencement of major construction activities.
- Maintain continuity of quality records throughout the project.
- Monitor quality during structural, civil, MEP-related, architectural, and finishing activities as applicable.
- Support final inspections, snag identification, rectification, and quality closure before project handover.
- Assist in compilation of final quality documentation and project handover records.
1. Snagging, Rectification & Handover
- Conduct quality inspections for completed works and identify snags / punch-list items.
- Coordinate with concerned teams and contractors for timely rectification.
- Verify completed rectification works through re-inspection.
- Ensure quality-related snags are closed before handover.
- Support the Project and CRM / Handover Teams wherever required during final inspection and handover activities.
- Maintain proper records of snag identification and closure.
1. Quality Improvement & Compliance
- Monitor compliance with approved quality procedures and project standards.
- Identify opportunities for improving construction quality and reducing recurring defects.
- Ensure site teams and contractors follow approved methods and quality requirements.
- Participate in quality audits and inspections conducted by internal or external stakeholders.
- Support implementation of corrective and preventive measures arising from audits and inspections.
- Promote a quality-focused culture across project execution teams.
