Educational Qualification & Eligibility

- MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.
- Postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty, i.e., MD/DNB in Forensic Medicine / Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, recognized as per the applicable NMC regulations.
- The candidate must possess the qualifications prescribed for the concerned specialty under the prevailing NMC Medical Institutions (Qualifications of Faculty) Regulations.
- Valid registration with the appropriate State Medical Council/National Medical Commission, as applicable.

Teaching Experience The candidate should fulfill the teaching experience requirements prescribed under the prevailing NMC regulations for appointment as Associate Professor. For appointment in a recognized medical institution, the candidate should have the required experience as an Assistant Professor in the concerned specialty, as applicable under the NMC regulations.

Research & Other Requirements

- The candidate should have the required number of research publications prescribed under the prevailing NMC regulations.
- The candidate should be among the eligible authors as prescribed by NMC for the required publications.
- The candidate should have completed the Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR) from an institution recognized/designated by the appropriate authority, as applicable under prevailing NMC regulations.




- The candidate should fulfill all other academic, research, and faculty eligibility requirements applicable at the time of appointment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Academic Responsibilities

- Conduct undergraduate teaching and training in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology as per the prescribed NMC curriculum.
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, small-group teaching, and other academic sessions.
- Teach and train MBBS students in:

- Forensic Medicine

- Medical Jurisprudence

- Toxicology

- Medical Ethics
- Medico-Legal Procedures

- Forensic Pathology
- Participate in curriculum implementation and academic planning.
- Conduct internal assessments and participate in university examinations.
- Evaluate students in theory, practical, viva-voce, and other academic assessments.
- Guide and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students, wherever applicable.

Research Responsibilities

- Initiate, participate in, and guide research activities in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology.
- Publish research work in accordance with applicable NMC requirements.
- Encourage research activities among students and departmental staff.
- Participate in conferences, workshops, CMEs, faculty development programmes, seminars, and journal clubs.
