Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a high-agency Quality Assurance leader who will help us address quality issues at their source. This role will lead the quality function for digital-learning products and drive a culture of prevention, accountability, continuous improvement, and zero preventable defects.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Quality Assurance:

- Lead end-to-end quality assurance for digital-learning products, from development through final LMS delivery.
- Ensure courses are functional, accurate, accessible, consistent, and learner-ready.
- Verify that developed products align with approved storyboards, specifications, design intent, and intended learner journeys.
- Test interactions, assessments, feedback, multimedia, navigation, responsive behaviour, and course completion.
- Establish explicit quality gates and ensure critical defects do not reach clients or learners.

Quality Prevention & Process Improvement:
- Develop a strong understanding of the complete design and development workflow to identify where defects originate.
- Engage QA at the appropriate stages of the development lifecycle to identify risks early.
- Identify weaknesses in specifications, handoffs, templates, processes, and build practices before they result in downstream defects.
- Lead root-cause analysis for recurring and critical issues.
- Convert recurring defects into stronger standards, templates, automated checks, and improved team practices.
- Drive a culture of first-time-right delivery and continuous quality improvement.

LMS, Cross-Platform & Technical Testing:
- Test digital-learning products across LMS platforms, browsers, devices, and screensizes.
- Validate SCORM and xAPI behaviour, including:
- Course launch
- Bookmarking and resume
- Scoring
- Completion status




- Tracking and reporting
- Validate responsive behaviour and overall functionality across supported environments.

Accessibility & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with WCAG and project-specific accessibility requirements.
- Lead testing for:
- Keyboard accessibility
- Focus order
- Colour contrast
- Alternative text
- Captions
- Heading structure
- Screen-reader compatibility
- Other relevant accessibility standards

AI & Automation:
- Develop and implement a practical roadmap for AI- and automation-enabled QA.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive and high-volume quality checks, including:
- Broken-link detection
- Package validation
- Regression testing
- Browser compatibility testing
- Content consistency checks
- Automated accessibility checks
- Use AI-assisted review responsibly while ensuring human judgement remains central to final quality decisions.
- Drive adoption of tools and practices that improve QA efficiency without compromising quality.

Quality Metrics & Governance:
- Establish meaningful quality metrics and dashboards covering:
- Defect origin
- Defect severity
- Defect recurrence
- First-time-right performance
- QA cycle time
- Client-reported defects
- Use data and trends to identify systemic quality issues and drive corrective actions.
- Establish clear accountability and governance around quality standards and release readiness.





Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the QA team.
- Build team capability in LMS testing, accessibility, AI-assisted QA, and test automation.
- Define and maintain consistent QA standards, methodologies, and best practices.
- Work closely with Instructional Design, Visual Design, Multimedia, Development, Project Management, and LMS teams to strengthen handoffs and drive issues to closure.
- Promote strong cross-functional collaboration and a shared ownership of quality.

Preferred candidate profile Education & Experience:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or related workstreams within digital learning, instructional design, learning-content development, educational technology, or a similar environment.
- Proven experience leading, managing, or mentoring QA professionals.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end digital-learning development lifecycle.
- Working knowledge of learning outcomes, instructional intent, and learner journeys.
- Hands-on experience with LMS platforms, SCORM, xAPI, responsive content, and commonly used e-learning authoring tools.
- Practical knowledge of WCAG and accessibility testing.
- Exposure to AI-assisted QA, test automation, automated accessibility testing, or regression testing.
