Primary title: Assistant Nursing Superintendent
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day nursing operations across wards and support areas; enforce clinical protocols and ensure consistent standards of bedside care.
- Manage staffing and shift rosters; allocate resources to maintain optimal nurse-to-patient ratios and continuity of care.
- Develop, review and implement nursing SOPs, infection control procedures and ward-level clinical protocols aligned to accreditation standards.
- Lead nursing competence programmes: conduct competency assessments, skills training, induction and performance appraisals.
- Drive quality and safety initiatives: conduct clinical audits, manage incident reporting, lead root-cause analyses and track corrective actions.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for patient flow, discharge planning, clinical documentation and regulatory inspections.
Skills & Qualifications Must-Have
- Educational qualification: M.sc / B.Sc Nursing or Post-Basic GNM (or equivalent).
- Valid nursing registration as per local/state regulatory requirements.
- Proven clinical nursing experience with demonstrated supervisory or unit-lead responsibilities.
- Hands-on experience with infection control practices, clinical governance and quality assurance.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) mandatory.
- Strong familiarity with accreditation processes (NABH) and preparation for audits/inspections.
Preferred
- Advanced certification: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and clinical documentation workflows.
- Postgraduate qualification in Nursing/Healthcare Management or experience in tertiary/multispeciality hospitals.
