Key Responsibilities

1.

Regulatory

Intelligence &

- Foresight

- Monitor FSSAI regulations, notifications, amendments, consultations and enforcement trends relevant to the company's portfolio.

- Track emerging developments in nutrition labelling, front-of-pack labelling, sugar, salt, saturated fat, additives, claims and advertising.

- Translate regulatory developments into clear business implications and recommended actions.

- Develop and maintain a regulatory roadmap highlighting upcoming changes and potential portfolio impact.

- Participate in relevant industry forums and regulatory discussions where appropriate.

2. Nutrition &

- Portfolio Assessment

- Develop a nutrition profile of the company's product portfolio.

- Assess potential exposure of products to emerging nutrition regulations and requirements.

- Work with R&D; and Quality to identify opportunities for reformulation, renovation and product improvement.

- Support Marketing in understanding nutrition-related consumer trends and emerging expectations.

- Build a portfolio-level Nutrition &
- Regulatory Risk Dashboard.

3. Claims &

- Consumer Communication

- Review nutrition, health and other product-related claims proposed by Marketing.

- Work with Legal and Quality to ensure claims are appropriately substantiated and compliant.

- Develop and maintain a Claims Library covering approved, restricted and high-risk claims.

- Review packaging, advertising and digital communication from a nutrition/regulatory perspective.

New Product

Development &

- Innovation





- Become an integral part of the NPD and product renovation process.

- Provide regulatory and nutrition input at the concept stage, rather than only at final approval.

- Identify regulatory implications of new ingredients, formulations, pack formats and communication.

- Support Marketing and R&D; in developing products that are both commercially attractive and future-ready from a regulatory perspective.

5.

Internal Capability

Building

- Develop easy guidelines and tools to help Marketing and R&D; understand relevant regulatory and nutrition requirements.

- Conduct periodic awareness sessions for Marketing, Sales, R&D; and other relevant functions.

- Establish a structured internal process for regulatory updates and escalation of emerging risks.

Key Deliverables / KPIs

- Regulatory &
- Nutrition roadmap for India.

- SKU-level Nutrition &

- Regulatory Risk Dashboard.

- Quarterly regulatory intelligence report to Management.

- HFSS / front-of-pack labelling readiness assessment.

- Claims library and claims approval framework.

- Regulatory assessment integrated into NPD and renovation processes.

- Timely identification and escalation of regulatory risks.

- Internal training and capability-building Programme.





- Reduction in last-minute regulatory/packaging changes and compliance risks.

Preferred candidate profile

Education

- Degree/Master's in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition, Dietetics, Biotechnology or a related discipline.

Experience

- 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in FMCG, Food &
- Beverage, Food Ingredients or a regulatory/technical environment.

- Strong preference for candidates with direct exposure to FSSAI and Indian food regulations.

- Experience working with Marketing, R&D; and/or Quality would be highly desirable.

Skills &

- Competencies

- Strong understanding of food labelling, nutrition information and food claims.

- Ability to interpret regulations and translate them into practical business implications.

- Good analytical and research skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication.

- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.

- Commercial orientation and understanding of FMCG brand-building.

- Comfortable working in an environment where regulations and interpretations continue to evolve.

- Working knowledge of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and applicable Legal Metrology Rules.

- Understanding of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules and mandatory declarations.

- Ability to review pack artwork for net quantity, MRP, unit sale price and Legal Metrology requirements.

- Ability to track Legal Metrology updates and translated them into packaging and compliance actions.
