Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineering professional to head customer engineering and product optimization initiatives for advanced emission control and clean-tech products.

This role requires a robust blend of product development, customer-facing engineering, validation, cost optimization, and technical leadership. The candidate will act as the bridge between customers, product development, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams to drive scalable, competitive engineering solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth in mechanical systems with product thinking, engineering execution capability, customer engagement, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Product Engineering & Development

- Lead end-to-end engineering development of mechanical products from concept definition through prototyping, validation, industrialization, and deployment.
- Translate market requirements, customer needs, and business objectives into clear engineering specifications and product requirements.
- Drive product architecture decisions with focus on performance, manufacturability, reliability, durability, and cost competitiveness.
- Lead subsystem design, engineering problem-solving, and technical decision-making across all product lifecycle stages.
- Develop and refine product solutions based on field feedback, regulatory requirements, and competitive benchmarking.
- Support rapid prototyping and iterative product refinement during development cycles.

Customer Engineering / Technical Solutions

- Serve as the primary technical interface for key customer engagements.
- Support customer discussions involving technical clarifications, solution customization, application engineering, and issue resolution.
- Understand customer operating conditions, use cases, and pain points, translating them into engineering improvements.




- Work closely with commercial teams to support solution positioning, technical sales discussions, and customer adoption.

Validation & Engineering Analysis

- Define validation strategy for product performance, durability, reliability, and compliance.
- Lead structured validation programs including test planning, design verification, design validation, and root-cause investigations.
- Ensure products meet relevant regulatory and application-specific validation standards (knowledge of ISO 8178 or equivalent duty cycles is preferred).
- Support troubleshooting and performance optimization of products under field conditions.

Cross-Functional Leadership

- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Coordinate closely with R&D;, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, design, and commercial teams.
- Drive structured engineering reviews, technical governance, and execution discipline.
- Support decision-making for product improvements, upgrades, and issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

- B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
- M.Tech preferred

Required Experience

- 4-6 years of experience in:

- Mechanical product development

- Product engineering
- Customer engineering / application engineering

- Industrial mechanical systems
- Automotive / diesel / engine systems
- Emission control / exhaust aftertreatment / clean-tech products (preferred)
