The Role
As an Artist & Label Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day business, strategy, releases, relationships, and execution for a portfolio of artists and/or independent labels.
You will act as the central point of coordination between artists, labels, producers, distributors, DSPs, marketing teams, content teams, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should be capable of taking an artist or label from planning → release → marketing → distribution → post-release analysis while maintaining strong relationships and ensuring flawless execution.
Key Responsililties
1. Artist Management
- Manage a portfolio of artists and act as their primary business point of contact.
- Build and execute artist growth strategies across music, content, social media, collaborations, and audience development.
- Understand each artist's positioning, audience, strengths, weaknesses, and long-term career objectives.
- Coordinate with artists, managers, producers, composers, lyricists, and other stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for collaborations, brand partnerships, performances, features, and other commercial opportunities.
- Maintain solid and professional artist relationships.
2. Label Management
- Manage day-to-day relationships with independent labels and label partners.
- Understand label catalogues, release strategies, commercial objectives, and upcoming pipelines.
- Coordinate catalogue onboarding, distribution, release planning, metadata, assets, and marketing.
- Develop long-term relationships with label owners, A&R; teams, and music businesses.
- Identify opportunities to grow label catalogues and commercial performance.
3. Release Management
Own the complete release lifecycle:
Pre-Release → Release Day → Post-Release
Responsibilities include
- Release planning and scheduling.
- Coordination of audio, artwork, video, metadata, credits, lyrics, ISRC, UPC, and other release requirements.
- Distribution coordination across DSPs and platforms.
- Pitching and playlist opportunities.
- Release calendar management.
- Pre-save and pre-release campaigns.
- Coordination with marketing and social media teams.
- Post-release monitoring and optimization.
- Tracking streams, views, engagement, playlists, UGC, and other performance indicators.
4. Strategy & Growth
- Develop customized growth strategies for artists and labels.
- Analyze streaming, social media, audience,
and content data.
- Identify trends and opportunities within the Indian and global music ecosystem.
- Build release strategies based on artist positioning and audience behavior.
- Develop long-term plans rather than focusing only on individual releases.
- Contribute ideas for catalogue growth, audience acquisition, monetization, and brand building.
5. Marketing & Campaign Coordination
- Work closely with internal and external marketing teams to execute music campaigns.
- Coordinate digital marketing, social media, influencer marketing, creator campaigns, YouTube, Meta, Spotify, and other promotional activities.
- Ensure campaigns are executed according to timelines and budgets.
- Monitor campaign performance and recommend optimizations.
- Coordinate with creative teams for artwork, social assets, short-form content, promotional creatives, and other campaign requirements.
6. Industry Relationship
Build and maintain strong relationships with:
- Artists & Artist Managers
- Independent Labels
- Producers & Composers
- Music Publishers
- DSPs & Streaming Platforms
- Distributors & Aggregators
- Record Labels
- Media & PR Agencies
- Influencers & Creators
- Brand Partnerships Teams
- Event & Talent Agencies

Your existing industry network will be considered a strong advantage.
What We're Looking For
Music Have
- 5+ years of professional experience in the music industry.
- Proven experience managing artists, labels, catalogues, or music businesses.
- Existing experience with end-to-end music release management.
- Strong understanding of music distribution and digital platforms.
- Good understanding of Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Amazon Music, JioSaavn, Wynk, Instagram/Facebook Music, and other DSP ecosystems.
- Understanding of ISRC, UPC, metadata, rights, credits, releases, and catalogue management.
- Strong communication and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple artists/releases simultaneously.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with deadlines and take ownership of outcomes.
- Strong understanding of the Indian music industry.
Preffered
- Existing relationships with artists, labels, distributors, DSPs, or other industry stakeholders.
- Experience managing commercially successful artists or releases.
- Experience working with independent labels.
- Experience in music distribution/label services.
- Understanding of digital marketing and performance marketing.
- Experience working with international music markets.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Experience with artist development and A&R.;
