About AscendK

AscendK is a new running apparel brand being built with a straightforward goal — to create high-performance running apparel that runners genuinely want to wear.

We’re looking for an experienced Apparel & Product Development Consultant to work closely with us as we build our first range of products.

This is a hands-on role. We’re looking for someone who understands what happens beyond the sketch — from choosing the right fabric to working with suppliers, manufacturers, sampling units, and getting the final product right.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Help us select the right performance fabrics for running apparel.
2. Evaluate fabric properties such as breathability, moisture management, stretch, weight, durability, hand-feel, and comfort.
3. Attend meetings with fabric suppliers, garment manufacturers, sampling units, and other vendors along with the founder.
4. Help evaluate suppliers/manufacturers based on quality, capabilities, costing, MOQ, and production feasibility.
5. Work with us on apparel design and product development.
6. Advise on fit, construction, stitching, finishing, measurements, and garment details.
7. Review samples and provide technical feedback and improvements.
8. Help convert product ideas into production-ready garments.
9. Assist with tech packs/specifications where required.
10. Be involved from concept → fabric → design → sampling → manufacturing → final product.





Must-Have Requirements

1. 3+ years of relevant experience in apparel, sportswear, activewear, or product development.
2. Strong, practical knowledge of fabric suppliers and garment manufacturers.
3. Must be willing and available to physically attend supplier, manufacturer, sampling, and other product development meetings when required.
4. Hands-on experience with fabric sourcing, garment development, sampling, fit, and production.
5. Experience specifically with running/performance apparel will be a strong advantage.

Who We're Looking For

More than just a designer, we're looking for someone who understands the complete apparel development process and can help us make the right decisions at every stage.

You should be practical, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working closely with a founder to build something from scratch.

Availability - Hybrid role.

The consultant should be available for in-person visits and meetings when required, particularly with suppliers, manufacturers, sampling units, and other product development partners.

The frequency of meetings will depend on the stage of development.

Compensation - As per experience and expertise.
