The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of insurance principles, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders. The candidate would be supporting the Global Casualty team in compiling, structuring, and analyzing casualty-related data and research, with a focus on litigation trends, court awards, and market intelligence. As a member of the team, he/she will be responsible for contributing to the vision, growth and success of the team while developing expertise in a team-oriented, knowledge-sharing setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed investigations to understand client portfolios, including analyzing claims data and loss ratios.
- Support extraction and analysis of court award data (economic vs non-economic damages) using internal tools.
- Build and maintain datasets on nuclear awards by state over time (using sources such as Chambers of Commerce).
- Assist in triangulating external award data with client data to understand settlement trends.
- Research attorney advertising spends by state and compares with representation rates and court awards.
- Compile and track developments in tort reform across states and assess potential economic impact.
- Leveraging these insights to support effective engagement with reinsurers and prospective clients.
Qualifications / Skills Required
- Graduate/post-graduate.
- Experience in insurance, reinsurance, or financial analytics is helpful but not required.
- Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel is essential.
- Exposure to data tools or AI-based tools is useful.
- Knowledge of Python, R, Power BI etc. is an added advantage.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiastic and strongly motivated self-starter with good attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Structured and methodical approach to research and analysis.
