Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineering Manager with 10+ years of hands-on experience, including leading and mentoring teams of civil engineers, to oversee lake development, watershed management, and large-scale civil engineering works.
The Manager will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of on-ground planning, execution, quality assurance, monitoring, and stakeholder coordination for lake rejuvenation and watershed-related civil activities. The role requires strong technical leadership, field execution capability, cross-functional coordination, and robust documentation, ensuring adherence to project timelines, engineering standards, and environmental norms.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Engineering Responsibilities
- Provide strategic technical direction to the civil engineering team, guiding planning methodologies, execution approaches, and sequencing of civil works across multiple sites.
- Lead preparation of integrated civil execution plans, including work phasing, resource planning, risk assessment, and contingency strategies for lake and watershed interventions.
- Review and optimize engineering designs, methodologies, and construction practices proposed by team members to ensure efficiency, durability, and sustainability.
Project & Site Monitoring
- Supervise and mentor a team of civil engineers, ensuring clear role allocation, accountability, and performance tracking across all project sites.
- Conduct periodic technical and planning reviews with the civil team to assess progress, identify risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive weekly and monthly planning discussions with the team to align site-level execution with overall project milestones and organisational priorities.
QA/QC & Documentation
- Conduct regular Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) checks for all civil work components.
- Verify measurements and certify RA bills, part bills, and contractor submissions.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation including:
Site visit reports
Progress and monitoring reports
Photo documentation
QA/QC compliance reports
As-built drawings and records
Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide leadership and strategic inputs to cross-functional teams to align civil work planning with procurement timelines, budget controls, and monitoring frameworks.
- Support capacity building of junior and mid-level civil engineers through on-the-job guidance, technical reviews, and structured feedback.
- Act as a key decision-maker for resolving complex technical, execution, and coordination challenges in consultation with senior project leadership.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- 10+ years of relevant field experience, specifically in:
o Lake development and rejuvenation o Pond/reservoir restoration o Watershed or irrigation projects o Earthwork, excavation, and structural works
- Proven experience in reading plans, BOQs, site estimation, tendering, and engineering measurement.
- Understanding of hydrology,
rainfall–runoff behaviour, and lake ecosystem functioning is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies·
- Strong technical expertise in civil engineering and lake/watershed engineering.·
- Ability to independently manage multiple sites and ensure timely deliverables.·
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Word, and engineering documentation.·
- Effective communication skills in English and Kannada.·
- Solid interpersonal skills to work with community groups, contractors, and government departments.·
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and time-management capabilities.5. Remuneration·
- Remuneration: 7 to 14LPA (Based on relevant experience, technical expertise, and field exposure)
