Accounting Executive Sales Return & Repair

Role Purpose To manage the inward processing, accounting and reconciliation of jewellery received from customers for sales return, exchange or repair. The role will ensure accurate inventory and financial accounting, complete documentation, and compliance with GST and applicable taxation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Receive jewellery returned for exchange, sales return or repair and verify it against the original invoice, return documents or repair request.
- Validate the quantity, gross/net weight, purity, diamond details and other product specifications in coordination with Quality and Inventory teams.
- Record sales returns, exchanges, repair inward/outward and related inventory movements accurately in SAP/ERP.
- Prepare and process credit notes, debit notes, tax invoices, repair invoices, delivery challans and other statutory documents.
- Ensure correct accounting and GST treatment of sales returns, exchanges, repair charges and material movements.
- Reconcile customer-wise and SPO-wise returns with inventory records, customer ledgers and the general ledger.
- Account for jewellery issued for melting and reconcile the recovery of gold, diamonds and other materials.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to weight, value, taxation, inventory or accounting entries.




- Monitor pending return and repair transactions and ensure their timely closure.
- Maintain complete records and provide required information for statutory, internal and external audits.
- Prepare periodic MIS on returns, repairs, open transactions, reconciliations and material recovery.

Qualification and Experience

- B.Com or M.Com from a recognized university.
- 3–6 years of experience in sales return, exchange, repair, inventory or customer accounting.
- Experience in the jewellery manufacturing or retail industry will be preferred.

Required Knowledge and Skills

- Sound understanding of accounting principles, GST, taxation and statutory documentation.
- Knowledge of sales return, credit note, repair and inventory accounting.
- Understanding of gold, diamond, purity and weight reconciliation will be an advantage.
- Working knowledge of SAP or another ERP system and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Robust numerical accuracy, attention to detail, reconciliation and coordination skills.
