Accounting Analyst IV Coordinator

Responsibilities
- Owns and leads end-to-end freight accounting across clearing, accrual, and reconciliation processes, ensuring accurate and timely recording in SAP in line with close timelines, GAAP, and SOX/internal controls.
- Drives governance, issue resolution, and continuous improvement, partnering closely with Transportation, Accounts Payable/Freight Payment Provider, RTR/Corporate Accounting, and IT/Master Data to reduce aged balances, prevent duplicate/miss posted activity, and improve upstream process quality.
- Provides day-to-day leadership to the freight accounting team, including work allocation, coaching, quality checks, and performance management against agreed SLAs.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent practical experience; MBA/CPA/CMA is a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in GL accounting Costing operations (RTR/AP/Supply Chain Accounting preferred) with strong ownership of period close, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong SAP experience (FI/CO, MM) including investigation of posting flows, configuration impacts, and master data dependencies; freight payment system exposure preferred.
- Proven experience leading a team or workstream (planning, coaching, quality checks, and stakeholder management), ideally in a GBS/shared services environment.
- Demonstrated control mindset with SOX/internal controls,
audit support, and process documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability; able to lead complex exception investigation and root-cause remediation across functions.
- People/workstream leadership: coaching, prioritization, quality management, and performance management in a deadline-driven close workplace.
- Strong control mindset with ability to design/operate controls, maintain audit-ready documentation, and ensure segregation of duties.
- Stakeholder management and communication: able to influence Transportation, AP, RTR, and IT/Master Data and drive decisions/escalations.
- Strong SAP and reporting skills; advanced Excel; ability to build/interpret trend and variance analysis to drive improvements.
- Continuous improvement / change management mindset (standardization, automation, and simplification).
- Ready to work in US shift time.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads end-to-end freight accounting operations- clearing, accrual, and reconciliation -by managing team execution and backlog to meet the close calendar; ensuring SOP compliance, quality reviews, and SAP posting discipline ; owning and reporting SLAs/KPIs ; and driving automation/continuous improvement with IT/Master Data. Ensures effective invoice-to-accrual/shipment matching , timely clearing of open items , accurate period freight accruals (including capitalization vs. expense), and complete monthly reconciliations with audit-ready support; partners with Transportation and AP to resolve exceptions, reduce aged balances, and remediate root causes, including SOX/audit coordination.
