Accountant (NGO Accounting & Compliance)

Routes 2 Roots is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team and manage accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and NGO-related financial requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle bank reconciliation, ledger scrutiny, journal entries, and expense verification.
- Manage TDS, GST, Income Tax, and other applicable statutory compliances .
- Assist in preparation of financial statements, budgets, utilisation certificates, and donor/project reports.
- Maintain proper documentation and supporting records for audits.
- Coordinate with Statutory Auditors, Internal Auditors, consultants, and government authorities .
- Maintain records and compliance relating to NGO/Trust/Society requirements , including donor and project-related accounting.
- Assist in preparing documentation for registrations, renewals, grants, tenders, and other regulatory requirements.




- Ensure proper accounting and utilisation of restricted and project-specific funds.
- Support management in financial analysis and reporting as required.
- Maintain books of accounts and day-to-day accounting transactions.
- Prepare Receipts & Payments, Income & Expenditure Account, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements .

Candidate Profile

- Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance .
- 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience , preferably with an NGO, Trust, Society, or non-profit organisation.
- Strong knowledge of Tally/ERP and MS Excel .
- Good understanding of TDS, GST, Income Tax, audit, and statutory compliance .
- Knowledge NGO financial compliance will be an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
