Role Description The Academic Counselor (IIT course selling) is a full-time, in office role based in Bengaluru South. This role involves counseling students and families on IIT-focused courses, understanding their academic background, and recommending suitable programs.
The counselor will handle inbound and outbound inquiries, conduct one-on-one sessions, explain course structures, fees, and outcomes, and support students through the enrollment process. Daily tasks include maintaining accurate records of interactions, coordinating with faculty and the sales team, following up with prospective learners, and contributing to outreach activities such as seminars or information sessions.
The role requires consistent on-site presence to engage directly with students and ensure high-quality support throughout their decision-making journey.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Career Counseling skills to guide learners toward appropriate IIT-focused courses.
- Candidates should possess effective Academic Advising and Education-related knowledge to explain curriculum, exam patterns, and learning pathways.
- Candidates should possess clear, empathetic Communication skills to interact with students, parents, and internal teams.
- Candidates should ideally have experience in academic or test-prep environments, especially related to engineering entrance examinations.
- Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build trust, and a goal-oriented approach to supporting enrollments.
- A bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in English and local languages, basic computer skills, and the ability to work flexible hours when needed will be beneficial.
