Location: Financial District, NYC and summers in Cape Cod
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am – 6pm (50+ guaranteed hours/week)
Children: 2-year-old (girl)
Start Date: Flexible start date until September 2026
Position Overview A warm and loving family of three based in the Financial District is seeking a full time Nanny/Household Manager to care for their 2-year-old daughter.
The family resides in New York City through Juneteenth, then relocates to Cape Cod for approximately 10 weeks each summer.
The nanny is given one week off during the summer, so the live-in Cape Cod commitment is roughly nine weeks.
The family follows a RIE-informed parenting philosophy. The mother works from home and is actively involved throughout the day, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively alongside a parent. The father travels between New York City and Cape Cod Monday through Thursday and is home on weekends.
While the child’s care, safety, and well-being will always be the primary focus, the family is looking for a true partner who enjoys helping the household run smoothly. During naps, independent play, or other downtime, the nanny will transition into household management responsibilities. As their daughter begins school next year, the role will naturally evolve to include a greater emphasis on household management.
The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, takes initiative, anticipates the family’s needs, and enjoys creating a well-run, supportive home environment.
Accommodations While in Cape Cod, the nanny will have a private bedroom. The bathroom is shared with the child.
Key Responsibilities Childcare
- Provide attentive, loving care for the child throughout the day.
- Help her get ready each morning, including dressing and preparing her daily essentials.
- Prepare and label her morning shake, healthy meals, and snacks.
- Pack her cooler bag and other items needed for school, outings,
and activities.
- Safely transport her to and from school, activities, and appointments.
- Engage her in age-appropriate indoor and outdoor play that supports her development.
- Manage the child’s laundry, including folding, putting away, rotating seasonal clothing, and organizing items she has outgrown.
- Maintain consistent routines for meals, naps, and daily activities.
- Keep the child’s bedroom, play areas, main spaces of the home, and the child’s belongings clean, organized, and reset throughout the day.
- Change her bedding as needed
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and organized environment.
Household Management
- Manage all child-related household responsibilities
- Run the dishwasher and empty it as needed
- Take out trash and recycling when necessary
- Help pack for family travel
- Run occasional child-related errands, including grocery shopping, clothing alterations, and other family requests.
Household Environment The family has a weekly cleaning service in Cape Cod and a part-time housekeeper in New York. Deep cleaning is not expected from the candidate in this role. Instead, the family is seeking someone who takes pride in maintaining an organized environment, practices a clean-as-you-go approach, and proactively pitches in to help the household run smoothly.

- Comfortable working collaboratively and independently
- Comfortable around dogs (the family has two large Golden Doodles)
- Warm, engaging, proactive, and highly organized
- A team player with an all-hands-on-deck mindset and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed
