nRole Overview
nWe are looking for a solid Java engineer with hands-on experience in Functional Programming, Microservices architecture, and Cloud deployment patterns. This role requires a deep understanding of Java's modern capabilities (including Java 21 features), event-driven architectures (Kafka), and cloud-native development (preferably GCP).
nYou will be part of a high-performing team delivering scalable backend solutions for CLIENT, a global financial services leader that is undergoing a major modernization effort in its Collateral and Risk Management space.
nKey Responsibilities

Design and implement microservices using contemporary Java functional programming concepts.n
Collaborate on event-driven systems using Kafka and apply architectural patterns like Choreography, Strangler, and Sidecar.n
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.n




Develop and deploy applications in GCP (or any public cloud) using services like Cloud Run, GKE, GCS, etc.n
Write clean, testable, and scalable code with emphasis on readability and maintainability.n
Contribute to the adoption of modern Java features, including Pattern Matching, Records, and Record Patterns.n
Demonstrate a foundational understanding of deployment patterns and CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments.n

nTechnical Requirements
nCore Java & Functional Programming

Deep understanding of Java Streams, Functional Interfaces, Lambda expressions, Supplier, Consumer, Function, and reduce operations.n
Experience with newer Java features (preferably Java 17+; familiarity with Java 21 is a plus).n
Proficiency in immutable data structures, pure functions, and clean code principles.n
