About the Role

We are looking for a ZED Facilitator to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in understanding, adopting, and progressing through the MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification journey.

The ZED Facilitator will be responsible for identifying eligible MSMEs, conducting awareness and counselling sessions, assisting them with registration and documentation, coordinating assessments, and providing continuous handholding to help MSMEs implement Zero Defect Zero Effect practices.

The official ZED programme includes awareness programmes, training, assessment & certification, handholding, incentives/benefits, and digital facilitation.

Key Responsibilities

1. MSME Outreach & Lead Generation

- Identify and approach eligible MSMEs in assigned territories.
- Conduct calls, meetings, factory visits and awareness sessions.
- Explain the benefits and process of ZED Certification to MSME owners and management.
- Generate qualified MSME leads and convert them into ZED applicants.
- Develop relationships with industrial associations, clusters, DICs, consultants and other MSME ecosystem stakeholders.

2. ZED Awareness & Counselling

- Explain the Zero Defect Zero Effect philosophy and its business benefits.
- Educate MSMEs on quality, productivity, sustainability, environmental practices and process improvement.
- Conduct one-to-one counselling and group awareness programmes.
- Understand the MSME's current processes and identify areas requiring improvement.

3. Registration & Documentation Support





- Assist MSMEs with the online ZED application process.
- Guide clients regarding required documents, declarations and information.
- Support MSMEs in preparing relevant records and evidence for assessment.
- Maintain accurate client and application records.

4. Handholding & Implementation Support

- Guide MSMEs in preparing for ZED assessment.
- Help identify gaps against applicable ZED parameters.
- Coordinate with technical experts/consultants wherever specialized intervention is required.
- Follow up with MSMEs on corrective and improvement actions.
- Support MSMEs through the certification journey from application to assessment and beyond.

The scheme specifically treats ZED as a journey involving assessment, modification, guidance and handholding to improve MSME competitiveness and sustainability.

5. Coordination

- Coordinate with MSME owners, management teams and internal/external consultants.
- Coordinate assessment-related activities and schedules.
- Maintain regular communication with applicants regarding application status and next steps.
- Escalate technical or certification-related issues to the appropriate authority.

6. Reporting

- Maintain daily/weekly activity reports.
- Track leads, meetings, applications, assessments and certifications.
- Maintain a pipeline of prospective MSMEs.
- Submit MIS and performance reports to management.
- Track client progress and follow-up activities.

Required Qualifications




- Graduate degree in Engineering, Management, Commerce, Science, Quality Management, Operations or a related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in MSME consulting, business development, quality management, industrial sales, certification, compliance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of MSME operations, manufacturing processes, quality systems or sustainability will be an advantage.
- Experience in field sales/business development will be preferred.
- Positive knowledge of MS Office / Google Workspace.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems
- Basic understanding of ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 or similar standards
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, productivity and process improvement
- Client relationship management
- Lead generation and conversion
- Documentation and reporting
- Strong follow-up skills
- Willingness to travel for MSME visits

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The ZED Facilitator may be measured on:

- Number of MSMEs contacted
- Number of MSME awareness meetings conducted
- Qualified leads generated
- MSMEs onboarded
- ZED applications facilitated
- MSMEs successfully progressing through certification
- Client follow-up and retention
- Field visits completed
- Conversion ratio
- Monthly revenue/business targets, where applicable
- Quality and accuracy of documentation/MIS
