Community & Social Media Manager8ight is building camera-first smart glasses designed for natural, hands-free first-person capture.As we prepare for a global launch, we are looking for a Community & Social Media Manager to help us grow an active community around consumer technology, cameras, wearables, creators, and first-person storytelling.This is not just a content-scheduling position. You will participate in real conversations, build relationships with early supporters, answer product questions, collect useful feedback, and help shape how people discover and understand 8ight.What you will doManage and grow our presence across platforms such as Reddit, Discord, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook Groups, and YouTubeFind relevant communities and conversations where 8ight can participate naturally and provide valueRespond to questions, comments, feedback, and criticism clearly and professionallyTurn product updates, technical information, development progress, and use cases into engaging community contentBuild and maintain a practical social media and community calendarCreate discussions that appeal to creators, camera enthusiasts, travelers, athletes, technology enthusiasts, and early adoptersModerate our owned communities and maintain a positive, practical environmentIdentify potential ambassadors, creators, testers, partners, and highly engaged supportersSupport product announcements, AMAs, livestreams, crowdfunding activity, and launch campaignsMonitor sentiment, recurring questions, objections, and product feedbackReport weekly on community growth, engagement, feedback, and opportunitiesWhat we are looking forAt least 2 years of professional experience in community management,



social media, digital marketing, or a related roleStrong written and spoken EnglishExperience managing at least two relevant social or community platformsStrong understanding of how communication should differ across platforms such as Reddit, Discord, LinkedIn, and InstagramInterest in consumer electronics, cameras, wearables, gaming hardware, mobile devices, creator technology, or similar productsAbility to understand technical information and explain it clearly without exaggerating claimsGood judgment when responding to criticism, misinformation, conflict, or sensitive questionsStrong organization and the ability to work independently in a remote environmentA proactive mindset and the ability to suggest ideas rather than waiting for daily instructionsAvailability to work full time with regular overlap during GMT+8 business hoursNice to haveExperience with a consumer-electronics, hardware, camera, wearable, gaming, or mobile-technology brandExperience supporting a Kickstarter or other crowdfunding campaignExperience with creator, influencer, ambassador, or UGC outreachExperience growing an early-stage community from a small starting pointStrong practical knowledge of Reddit and DiscordBasic content-production skills using Canva, CapCut, Adobe tools,
