Job Description – TGT Science

We are seeking a dedicated, competent, and enthusiastic TGT Science Teacher to teach students at the Middle and Secondary levels (up to Class X). The ideal candidate should have strong subject knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science, along with the ability to make scientific concepts engaging, practical, and relevant to everyday life. The teacher will play an important role in developing students’ scientific temperament, curiosity, critical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach Science effectively at the Middle and Secondary levels as per the prescribed curriculum and academic guidelines.

- Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging lessons using creative, student-centric, inquiry-based, experiential, and project-based teaching methodologies.

- Explain scientific concepts through real-life examples, demonstrations, experiments, models, activities, visual resources, and digital tools.

- Conduct and supervise laboratory activities and experiments while ensuring adherence to laboratory safety procedures.

- Encourage students to observe, question, investigate, analyse, experiment, and draw logical conclusions.

- Relate scientific concepts to everyday life, technology, environmental concerns, sustainability, health, and current scientific developments.

- Encourage participation in science projects, exhibitions, quizzes, Olympiads, STEM activities, and other science-related competitions.

- Assess, record, and monitor students’ progress through classwork, assignments, practical work, projects, tests, assessments, and examinations.

- Identify students’ learning needs and provide appropriate academic support, remediation, enrichment, and timely feedback.

- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and independent thinking.





- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding students’ academic progress and areas for improvement.

- Participate actively in school activities, examinations, meetings, educational excursions, workshops, and professional development programmes.

- Follow school policies, academic guidelines, laboratory safety protocols, and child safety norms while maintaining discipline and a positive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications & Experience

- Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline from a recognized university.

- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (mandatory).

- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in a recognized school is preferred.

- Candidates with experience teaching Science at the Middle and Secondary levels will be preferred.

- Experience in handling Science laboratories, practical activities, projects, and science-related competitions will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong command of Science concepts and effective teaching methodologies.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

- Ability to simplify and explain complex scientific concepts in a clear, logical, and engaging manner.

- Strong practical and experimental skills with the ability to conduct effective demonstrations and laboratory activities.

- Proficiency in integrating digital tools, technology, simulations, and multimedia into classroom teaching.

- Strong classroom management, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to encourage inquiry, independent thinking, critical reasoning, and evidence-based learning.

- Creative approach to designing hands-on activities, experiments, projects, and real-world learning experiences.

- Passion for nurturing students’ scientific temperament, curiosity, innovation, environmental awareness, and problem-solving abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
