As a Technical Lead (Senior Power BI Developer), you will lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise‑grade Power BI reporting and dashboard solutions. You will manage a team of 5 to 8 developers while remaining actively involved in solution design, dashboard development, stakeholder engagement, troubleshooting, and project delivery. This role requires solid leadership capabilities and hands‑on expertise in Power BI, data modelling, performance optimisation, security management, and stakeholder collaboration.

Technical Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Power BI Developers.
- Provide technical guidance across all Power BI initiatives.
- Establish dashboard standards, best practices, and governance controls.
- Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and solution walkthroughs.
- Support team members in resolving complex technical challenges.
- Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Power BI Dashboard Development

- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Deliver interactive dashboards for executive, operational, regulatory, and business reporting.
- Build reusable frameworks and templates to improve efficiency.
- Design scalable semantic models to support growing business demands.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solutions.

Dashboard Mockup & Stakeholder Management

- Create dashboard prototypes, wireframes, and mockups.
- Facilitate design workshops with business users.
- Gather and incorporate stakeholder feedback into designs.
- Manage review cycles to ensure alignment with expectations.
- Recommend enhancements to improve user experience.

Power BI Workspace Administration & Security





- Manage Power BI Workspaces and governance activities.
- Administer workspace access, security groups, and role assignments.
- Implement and maintain Row‑Level Security (RLS).
- Ensure compliance with governance and security standards.
- Monitor workspace utilisation and user access.

Dashboard Performance Optimisation

- Analyse and optimise dashboard performance across datasets and reports.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Optimise DAX calculations, measures, and report designs.
- Improve dataset refresh performance and responsiveness.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and apply best practices.

Documentation & Governance

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including design documents, mapping, deployment guides, and user manuals.
- Ensure artefacts comply with governance standards.
- Support audit, compliance, and review requirements.

Delivery & Stakeholder Management

- Partner with Analysts, Engineers, Architects, Project Managers, and stakeholders.
- Participate in project planning, estimation, and sprint activities.
- Manage technical risks, dependencies, and implementation challenges.
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure dashboards are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

Hands‑On Development





- Actively contribute to dashboard development and troubleshooting.
- Support critical project deliveries and resource‑constrained engagements.
- Take ownership of complex reporting requirements.
- Lead by example through hands‑on problem solving and implementation.
- Step in during tight timelines to ensure successful delivery.

Experience

- You hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related discipline.
- You have 10–12 years of IT experience, including significant Business Intelligence and Power BI development.
- You have at least 4 years of experience leading technical teams.
- You have delivered enterprise‑scale reporting and dashboard solutions.

Technical Expertise

- You have extensive experience developing complex Power BI dashboards and reports.
- You are skilled in interactive visualisations, KPI reporting, and drill‑down analysis.
- You have strong experience in dimensional modelling and semantic model design.
- You are proficient in DAX calculations, measures, and optimisation techniques.
- You have experience managing Power BI Workspaces, access control, and governance.
- You are experienced in Row‑Level Security (RLS) implementation.
- You have optimised dashboard performance and improved responsiveness.
- You have created comprehensive technical and functional documentation.
