Job Summary
Guru Institute, Chandigarh is looking for a highly knowledgeable, experienced and result-oriented Life Science Faculty to teach students preparing for CSIR-UGC NET/JRF Life Sciences and other Life Science competitive examinations.
We are looking for a faculty member with solid command over Life Science concepts, excellent classroom teaching ability and the capability to train students for competitive examinations at NET/JRF level.
The ideal candidate should be able to simplify advanced biological concepts, teach through a conceptual and problem-solving approach, analyse previous-year examination questions and guide students towards achieving high scores and JRF/NET qualification.
Candidates currently residing in Chandigarh, Mohali or Panchkula will be preferred. Chandigarh-based candidates will receive first preference.
Key Responsibilities
The selected Life Science Faculty will be responsible for:
- Teaching CSIR NET/JRF Life Sciences students in classroom batches.
- Delivering concept-oriented and examination-focused lectures.
- Covering the prescribed syllabus systematically within the academic schedule.
- Preparing students for CSIR-UGC NET/JRF, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, GATE Life Sciences, GATE Biotechnology, IIT-JAM, CUET PG and M.Sc. entrance examinations, wherever assigned.
- Explaining complex Life Science concepts in a simple and structured manner.
- Teaching according to the latest examination pattern and syllabus.
- Solving and discussing previous-year questions.
- Developing topic-wise practice questions, assignments and test papers.
- Conducting regular tests, quizzes and doubt-clearing sessions.
- Analysing student performance and identifying weak topics.
- Providing individual academic guidance to serious aspirants.
- Maintaining high classroom engagement and student satisfaction.
- Preparing or updating study material, notes, PPTs and question banks.
- Contributing to recorded lectures and online/live classes whenever required.
- Supporting academic content development for the institute's online learning platform.
- Participating in academic planning and faculty meetings.
- Completing the syllabus within the stipulated time.
- Staying updated with changes in CSIR NET/JRF and other Life Science competitive examinations.
Candidates capable of teaching multiple CSIR NET Life Science units will be strongly preferred.
Educational Qualification
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Ph.D. in Life Sciences / Biological Sciences or related field
- CSIR NET qualification
- CSIR JRF qualification
- DBT-JRF qualification
- GATE qualification
- Previous competitive-exam teaching experience
- Research experience from a recognised university/institute
Candidates who have themselves qualified CSIR NET/JRF will receive additional preference.
Experience
Preferred: 1+ years of teaching experience
