Role Summary – Forward Deployed Senior Software Engineer

Experience: 8+ years
Primary Focus: Java Backend / Migration Tooling / Automation
Domain: Enterprise SaaS / Workflow Automation

This is a hands-on Senior Software Engineering role focused on building migration tooling and automation frameworks that help enterprise customers migrate from legacy schedulers and automation platforms to RunMyJobs (RMJ) .

Core Technical Requirements

Must Have:

- Java 11/17+
- Backend development
- REST APIs / API development
- Migration tooling / automation
- AI-driven automation use cases
- XML & JSON
- Jackson, Lombok
- PostgreSQL / MySQL
- Shell scripting
- Gradle
- Docker
- JUnit, AssertJ, Mockito
- Robust debugging and troubleshooting
- CI/CD exposure

Strongly Preferred

- Enterprise system/scheduler migration experience
- Workload scheduling / automation platforms
- ERP environments
- SAP ABAP / HANA
- Jenkins / GitHub Actions / GitLab CI
- Customer-facing / Forward Deployed Engineering experience

Ideal Candidate Profile

Look for an 8+ year Java backend engineer who has built APIs, automation frameworks, and developer tooling , rather than a conventional application developer.





The strongest profiles will combine:

Java + Backend/API + Automation + Migration + AI + Databases + Docker + Testing

with experience working directly with enterprise customers, Professional Services, Solution/Migration Architects, or implementation teams .
