Description

The Software Asset Analyst - Microsoft & Enterprise is responsible for operational software asset management across Microsoft and related enterprise software platforms. The role supports compliance, licence reconciliation, entitlement management, reporting, and optimisation activity, ensuring that deployed software is accurately tracked and aligned to contractual entitlements.

Key Responsibilities

- Track and manage Microsoft licensing across M365, SQL Server, and Windows Server environments.

- Maintain enterprise agreement entitlement records and associated licensing data.

- Monitor Copilot deployment and related licence usage to support governance and optimisation.

- Prepare true-up and true-down data for enterprise agreements and licensing reviews.

- Reconcile software discovery data against entitlement records within the SAM platform.

- Support production of monthly ELP reports and more frequent reconciliation for high-risk Microsoft products where required.

- Maintain accurate records of software purchases, entitlements, metric definitions, and compliance evidence.

- Identify unused, duplicate, or under-utilised licences for reclamation and right-sizing.





- Support ad-hoc reporting requests relating to software compliance and licensing status.

- Contribute to vendor audit readiness by maintaining supporting evidence and reliable licensing records.

- Work with stakeholders to improve data quality and ensure that newly deployed software is correctly reflected in entitlement and compliance records

Key Requirements

- Experience in software asset management or software licensing administration

- Good understanding of Microsoft licensing models, including M365, SQL Server, and Windows Server

- Experience working with enterprise agreements and entitlement records

- Familiarity with software discovery, reconciliation, and compliance reporting processes

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work with structured datasets, reporting outputs, and governance processes
