About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Manager / Supervisor – Stone Sorting & Melting Operations to manage the complete process of stone-set gold jewellery, from intake and stone identification to stone removal, gold melting, and final recovery.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in jewellery manufacturing, diamond/gemstone identification, gold recovery, melting operations, and team supervision.
Key Responsibilities:-
Stone Identification & Sorting:
- Identify and differentiate diamonds from zircon, cubic zirconia, and other diamond simulants.
- Identify genuine, synthetic, fake, and paste stones using appropriate gemological testing methods.
- Supervise jewellery intake, including weight, stone count, preliminary identification, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records linking jewellery, recovered stones, and gold throughout the process.
Team Supervision:
- Supervise karigars/artisans involved in stone removal.
- Ensure stones are removed safely without unnecessary gold loss or wastage.
- Verify recovered stones against intake records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in stone count, jewellery weight, or gold recovery.
Gold Melting Operations:
- Supervise batching, furnace operation, fluxing, temperature control, and pouring.
- Monitor gold recovery and melting loss for every batch.
- Compare expected and actual yield and investigate abnormal losses.
- Ensure proper handling of melting equipment, crucibles, and flux.
- Maintain records of input weight, output weight, purity, and melting loss percentage.
Process & Documentation:
- Implement SOPs for jewellery intake, stone identification, stone removal, and melting.
- Maintain accurate registers and/or Excel records.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of high-value material.
- Report production volumes, stone recovery, melting yield, and losses to management.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in a diamond factory, jewellery manufacturing unit, gold refinery, or gold recycling business.
- Strong practical knowledge of diamond and gemstone identification.
- Experience distinguishing diamonds from zircon/CZ and genuine stones from synthetic/fake stones.
- Hands-on knowledge of gold melting and recovery processes.
- Experience supervising karigars, artisans, or workshop/factory staff.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Formal gemology training/certification such as GIA, GJEPC, IIG, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of BIS hallmarking and gold purity testing.
- Exposure to acid testing, XRF, or karat meter.
- Experience handling second-hand gold jewellery.
- Strong team management and problem-solving skills.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
