Role Objective
We are looking for a hands-on and technically strong Project Manager who can independently manage office furniture projects from project planning and shop drawings through production coordination, quality inspection, dispatch, site installation, snagging, and final handover.
The candidate should have good knowledge of office furniture products, materials, manufacturing processes, installation methods, and site execution. The candidate must also be capable of preparing and understanding detailed furniture shop drawings.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Execution
- Study project orders, BOQs, specifications, drawings, and client requirements.
- Prepare detailed project execution plans, schedules, and milestones.
- Plan activities from drawing approval to production, dispatch, installation, and handover.
- Coordinate with design, production, purchase, accounts, and site teams.
- Monitor project progress against planned timelines.
- Identify potential delays and take corrective action proactively.
- Ensure projects are completed within the agreed time, quality, and cost parameters.
- Maintain project trackers and provide regular progress updates to management.
2. Shop Drawings & Technical Documentation
- Prepare detailed product/furniture shop drawings for manufacturing and site execution.
- Convert approved designs/BOQs into practical manufacturing drawings.
- Prepare drawings with accurate dimensions, materials, hardware, finishes, sections, elevations, and construction details.
- Prepare drawings for:
- Workstations
- Manager tables
- Conference tables
- Storage units
- Pedestals
- Reception counters
- Meeting tables
- Modular furniture
- Cafeteria furniture
- Custom furniture
- Coordinate with the client/consultant for drawing approvals.
- Incorporate comments and revisions accurately.
- Ensure approved drawings are properly issued to production and site teams.
- Maintain revision control and prevent execution based on outdated drawings.
Important: Candidate must be able to independently prepare furniture shop drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent software.
3. Site Coordination & Installation
- Visit project sites regularly and monitor execution.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and site representatives.
- Check site measurements and verify site conditions before production/installation.
- Coordinate installation teams and subcontractors.
- Ensure installation is carried out as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Plan manpower, tools, materials, and installation sequences.
- Resolve site-related technical and execution issues.
- Coordinate with other agencies/trades at site to avoid conflicts.
- Monitor installation productivity and workmanship.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working practices at site.
4. Product Quality Inspection
- Inspect furniture products at different stages of production.
- Check dimensions, materials, finishes, hardware, accessories, and workmanship.
- Verify finished products against approved shop drawings and specifications.
- Conduct pre-dispatch quality inspections.
- Identify defects and coordinate with production for rectification.
- Ensure only approved and inspected material is dispatched to site.
- Establish and maintain project-specific quality checklists.
5. Dispatch & Material Coordination
- Prepare and coordinate project-wise dispatch plans.
- Ensure materials are packed, labelled,
and dispatched according to the installation sequence.
- Verify quantities before dispatch.
- Coordinate with production, stores, logistics, and site teams.
- Ensure proper protection of furniture during packing, transportation, and unloading.
- Track dispatched material and maintain delivery records.
- Avoid shortages, wrong items, damage, and unnecessary multiple trips to site.
6. Vendor & Subcontractor Management
- Identify and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for project requirements.
- Obtain quotations and coordinate technical requirements with vendors.
- Monitor vendor quality, delivery schedules, and workmanship.
- Ensure vendors manufacture/supply products according to approved specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections of outsourced products.
- Follow up continuously for timely delivery.
- Develop reliable vendor relationships and maintain vendor performance records.
- Escalate quality or delivery issues to management when required.
7. Production Coordination
- Coordinate with the production team based on approved drawings and project priorities.
- Release production requirements in a clear and timely manner.
- Ensure production follows approved drawings, BOQ, specifications, and finishes.
- Resolve technical queries raised by production.
- Monitor production progress against project schedules.
- Prioritize critical items required for site installation.
- Ensure modifications or changes are properly communicated to production.
8. Material & Inventory Control
- Prepare project-wise material requirements in coordination with purchase and production.
- Monitor availability of materials, hardware, accessories, and finishes.
- Identify long-lead items well in advance.
- Avoid material shortages that can affect project timelines.
- Monitor excess, wastage, damage, and rework.
- Ensure project materials are properly identified and stored.
9. Client & Consultant Coordination
- Act as the primary project coordination point for assigned projects.
- Attend project meetings and coordinate technical discussions.
- Understand client requirements and communicate them internally.
- Track drawing approvals, material approvals, samples, and site instructions.
- Maintain proper records of client comments and changes.
- Ensure approved changes are communicated to all concerned departments.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.
10. Project Documentation & Reporting
Maintain proper project documentation including:
- Approved BOQ
- Shop drawings
- Drawing revision records
- Material specifications
- Finish schedules
- Sample approvals
- Site measurement records
- Production status
- Quality inspection reports
- Dispatch records
- Installation status
- Snag lists
- Completion reports
- Handover documents
Prepare weekly project progress reports covering:
- Planned vs. actual progress
- Production status
- Dispatch status
- Installation status
- Pending approvals
- Material shortages
- Site issues
- Quality issues
- Critical delays
- Action required from management
11. Snagging & Final Handover
- Conduct pre-handover inspections.
- Prepare detailed snag lists.
- Coordinate with production and installation teams for snag closure.
- Ensure all defects and pending works are completed before handover.
- Obtain client/consultant confirmation of completion.
- Coordinate final project documentation and handover.
Additional Responsibilities
- Take complete ownership of assigned projects.
- Maintain strong coordination between Sales → Design → Purchase → Production → Quality → Dispatch → Installation.
- Identify project risks before they become major problems.
- Suggest improvements in furniture design, manufacturing, installation, and project execution.
- Develop standard checklists and processes to improve project efficiency.
- Monitor project profitability and highlight potential cost overruns to management.
- Minimize rework, wastage, material damage, and installation errors.
- Ensure proper communication of all project changes and instructions.
- Support management in developing better project execution systems.
Candidate ProfileEducational Qualification
- Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Furniture Design, or related field.
- Relevant industry experience may be considered in place of formal qualification.
Required Experience
- 4–8 years of experience in office furniture, modular furniture, interior fit-out, furniture manufacturing, or similar industry.
- Experience handling commercial office projects will be preferred.
Technical Skills – Mandatory
- AutoCAD – must be able to prepare furniture shop drawings independently.
- Good understanding of furniture construction and manufacturing.
- Good knowledge of materials such as:
- MDF
- Plywood
- Particle board
- Laminates
- Veneers
- Solid wood
- Metal
- Glass
- Upholstery
- Hardware and fittings
- Ability to read architectural, MEP, and interior drawings.
- Valuable knowledge of furniture installation methods.
- Good knowledge of measurements and site conditions.
- MS Excel and MS Office.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of SketchUp, SolidWorks, or other furniture/design software.
- Experience in ERP/project management software.
- Knowledge of costing and BOQ.
- Experience with large corporate office projects.
- Knowledge of quality control systems.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is not just a site supervisor. He/she should be capable of understanding the complete furniture project lifecycle and taking ownership of the project from drawing to delivery and final handover.
The person should be able to look at a BOQ/design, understand how the product needs to be manufactured, prepare the shop drawing, coordinate production and vendors, inspect the finished product, plan dispatch, manage installation at site, resolve technical problems, and successfully hand over the completed project.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
