- Driving: Driving safely and following traffic laws to deliver goods on time
- Record keeping: Recording the receipt of goods at the start of the trip and the delivery of goods at the end
- Inspecting: Checking the condition of the vehicle and reporting any mechanical issues
- Communicating: Interacting with customers and loading crews in a professional and polite manner
- Completing paperwork: Completing transport documents and handing them over to customers and dispatchers
- Planning: Using a GPS to plan routes
