Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced AS/400 Developer with strong hands-on experience in IBM i (AS/400) development. The ideal candidate should have solid expertise in RPG, CL, DDS, DB2/400, and SQL, along with experience in application development, maintenance, troubleshooting, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform.

* Develop and maintain programs using RPG/ILE RPG, RPG IV, Free-Form RPG, CL, DDS, and SQL.

* Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

* Develop, enhance, and maintain application programs, modules, and interfaces.

* Write efficient SQL queries and perform SQL/database performance tuning.

* Work with DB2/400, Query/400, and related IBM i database technologies.

* Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and production issues.

* Perform root-cause analysis and implement appropriate fixes.

* Integrate AS/400 applications with external systems using APIs, web services, flat files, and other interfaces.

* Participate in application enhancements, testing, deployment, and maintenance activities.

* Ensure code quality, performance, security, and adherence to development standards.





* Collaborate with functional teams and other technical teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

* Prepare and maintain technical documentation as required.

Required Skills

* 6+ years of hands-on experience in AS/400 / IBM i development.

* Strong expertise in RPG IV / ILE RPG / Free-Form RPG.

* Strong knowledge of CL/CLLE, DDS, DB2/400, and SQL.

* Experience with SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

* Positive understanding of IBM i architecture and application development.

* Experience in debugging and production support.

* Experience working with system interfaces, APIs, web services, and file handling.

* Knowledge of source/version control tools such as Git or SVN is an advantage.

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

* Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working on enterprise-level AS/400 applications.

* Experience with application modernization or integration with modern technologies.

* Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

* Strong understanding of SDLC and software development best practices.
