Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data, BI & Integration Engineer with 5+ years of experience in Power BI, data modelling, SQL, master data management, ETL/integration, and enterprise reporting.

The candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable data models, developing business intelligence solutions, integrating data from multiple sources, and delivering reliable reporting and analytics capabilities to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Power BI Business Intelligence

- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions.
- Develop complex reports using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Create effective KPIs, metrics, visualizations, and drill-down reports based on business requirements.
- Implement Power BI data refresh, workspaces, gateways, and deployment processes.
- Optimize report performance and troubleshoot data/reporting issues.
- Manage Power BI security, including Row-Level Security (RLS) where required.

2. Data Modelling

- Design scalable and high-performance data models for BI and reporting.
- Develop star and snowflake schemas, dimensions, facts, relationships, and hierarchies.
- Apply appropriate data modelling and normalization/denormalization techniques.
- Build reusable semantic models to support enterprise reporting.
- Ensure data models are accurate, consistent, scalable, and optimized for performance.

3. SQL Data Engineering

- Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and data transformation logic.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
- Analyze data quality issues and implement appropriate remediation.
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance.
- Work with relational databases and enterprise data platforms.

4. ETL Data Integration

- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for integrating data from multiple sources.
- Integrate data from databases, APIs, files, applications, and cloud platforms.
- Develop data transformation, cleansing, validation, and enrichment processes.
- Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot failures and data-quality issues.




- Implement appropriate error handling, logging, scheduling, and monitoring mechanisms.

5. Master Data Management (MDM)

- Support implementation and maintenance of Master Data Management (MDM) processes.
- Define and maintain master data structures, hierarchies, relationships, and business rules.
- Support data standardization, deduplication, validation, and governance.
- Work with business/data owners to establish data quality standards.
- Ensure consistency of critical master data across integrated systems.

6. Reporting and Analytics

- Translate business requirements into meaningful reports, dashboards, KPIs, and analytical insights.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
- Develop standardized and self-service reporting solutions.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reporting data.
- Support ad-hoc data analysis and management reporting requirements.

7. Data Quality and Governance

- Implement data validation and reconciliation mechanisms.
- Identify data-quality gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Support data governance, metadata, lineage, and documentation initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate data security and access controls.
- Maintain technical documentation for data models, pipelines, reports, and integrations.

8. Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work closely with business users, data owners, application teams, IT, and management.
- Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Provide technical guidance on BI, data integration, and reporting solutions.
- Support production issues and ensure timely resolution of data and reporting incidents.

Experience and Competencies

- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI and SQL.
- Proven experience developing enterprise dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Strong understanding of data modelling and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and system integrations.
- Exposure to MDM and enterprise data governance.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical data and BI solutions.
- Good communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Certifications Preferred:

- PL-300 – Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst
- DP-203 – Azure Data Engineer Associate – a strong advantage

Additional Microsoft Azure, Fabric, data engineering, or BI certifications will be considered an advantage.
