The Marketing Manager, South Asia is responsible for translating JAPAC marketing strategy into impactful local execution across India and South Asia (India is the primary market of responsibility, with oversight/support for selected South Asian markets). This is a hands-on, broad-based marketing role requiring strong commercial understanding, customer insight and the ability to operate independently across the full marketing mix. The successful candidate will work closely with the regional marketing team to align priorities and then take ownership of local planning, execution and performance tracking. The role will partner closely with Sales, distributors, clinical stakeholders, KOLs and other internal functions to strengthen customer engagement, support product growth and drive business results.
Marketing Strategy & Commercial Execution
- Translate regional marketing strategies and priorities into clear, actionable local marketing plans for India and South Asia.
- Develop and execute local go-to-market plans, campaigns and initiatives based on customer needs, market dynamics, competitive activity and business priorities.
- Identify local market opportunities and recommend actions to regional leadership.
- Monitor market and competitor developments and provide actionable insights to the regional marketing team.
- Track marketing performance and adapt activities based on results and business impact.
Product Marketing & Launches
- Lead local execution of product launches in close alignment with the regional marketing team.
- Adapt global product positioning, messaging and materials to local customer and market needs.
- Develop sales enablement tools and content to support commercial teams and distributors.
- Partner with Sales to identify customer needs, market opportunities and barriers to adoption.
Customer, KOL & Distributor Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, KOLs and relevant clinical stakeholders.
- Develop and execute KOL engagement activities aligned with business priorities.
- Partner closely with distributors to ensure effective execution of marketing plans and campaigns. Support distributor capability through appropriate marketing guidance, tools, training and engagement.
Integrated Marketing & Communications
- Plan and execute integrated marketing activities across events, congresses, digital channels, customer communications and other relevant touchpoints.
- Manage external agencies and partners as required, ensuring quality, timelines and budget adherence.
- Identify and leverage relevant digital opportunities to strengthen customer engagement and brand visibility.
Training & Capability Building
- Plan and coordinate training programs for internal teams, distributors and customers in collaboration with relevant regional and clinical stakeholders.
- Support Sales and distributors with product, marketing and customer-facing training materials.
Budget & Performance Management
- Manage the local marketing budget and ensure effective allocation of resources against agreed business priorities.
- Measure campaign and activity performance and provide regular updates on progress, impact and key learnings.
- Ensure marketing activities are executed in accordance with company policies, processes and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of marketing experience within the medical device or healthcare industry, with exposure to product, commercial, and customer marketing. Experience in Endoscopy/GI is highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to independently plan and execute marketing programs, including product launches, campaigns, events, KOL engagement, and sales enablement initiatives, preferably within a distributor-led or multinational environment.
- Robust commercial acumen, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence Sales teams, distributors, customers, and regional stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English. Proficiency in a local Indian language is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
