Job DescriptionSummary GAGECC Lead Protection and Control (CCS) Engineer will executeConventional Control System (CCS) engineering activitiesconsidering the quality/Cost/time for the project assigned. Thisrole involves the execution of project design activities in linewith the Engineering Process. Monitoring and controlling of projectdesign budget, implementing design change process, supervising, andcoordinating all engineering activities required to execute theproject, whether done in house or by suppliers/subcontractors, andensuring the compliance to project technical specification in linewith defined scope. The successful candidate will be responsiblefor the performance of CCS engineering activities of the project.The successful candidate will coordinate with cross functionalteams, customers, and suppliers to ensure timely and efficientdesign delivery.JobDescription RolesandResponsibilities Executethe Design and Engineering activities for the Protection andControl Panels of EHV/HV Substation adhering the Quality, Cost andtime. Understanding the project technicalrequirement Customer Standards and specification and proposing thesolution to customer as per the projectscope. Performing the technicalcalculation for panels AC/DC Load, CT/PT Sizing & its Adequacyand Relay Setting. Selection of ProtectionRelays and other auxiliary materials as per project technicalspecification and customerrequirement. Preparation/Reviews and submissionof the complete detail design of the project to customer and itsfollow-up for approval. Liaise with othermembers of a multidisciplinary team to specify and design theproject as per the required technical standards andspecification.



Preparation and coordination forall applicable Manufacturing documents required for panelsintegration. Support factory during PanelsIntegration and FAT and clarify/close any raise comments/snagsduring FAT. Supporting management for Man-daysand materials estimation during ITO stage and its control duringOTR stage. Ensure on-time delivery of designand documents to stakeholders withquality. Participate and contribute to theproject multidisciplinary design reviews according to PL proceduresand per the project strategy. Participateto project strategy elaboration with PM and manage designissues up to resolution. Analyze customertechnical requirements, and preparation of the compliance, andhighlighting the potential risk/exception in the projects to theProject Team. Raise Change request for any suchrequirements which are not as per the projectspecification. Validate design throughoutcustomer acceptance and check consistency of engineeringdocuments before final release to customer by evaluating thecustomer requirements & associatedimpacts. Work for the cost optimization duringthe project’s execution through standardization and out of the boxideas, starting from the base design phase till the energizingstage. Review & validate the technicaloffers from suppliers, Support Procurement during commercialnegotiation for POs issuance and during post orderstage.



Works for the enhancement andimprovement of the design and solution to meet customer requirementin an optimum way. Demonstrate EHScompliance and ensure Zero Deviation Plan is implemented within theteam and setting the example by demonstrating the proper acts andactively observes work conditions and behaviors, givingconstructive feedback and celebrating EHS effectiveprevention. Effectively communicate directlywith customers to ensure excellent customer service and to buildand maintain customer intimacy. Works withapplication team to address any product issues and provide thesolution to thecustomer. Requirements Bachelorsin electrical engineering or related discipline from a reputeduniversity 10 years minimum relevant experiencein HV/EHV substation design andengineering Knowledge of GE and CompetitorsProducts Knowledge of Substation AutomationSystem Knowledge of Digital Substation andStation and Process bus Communication, IEC61850/PRP /RSTP and otherSerial Communication Good oral/writtencommunication skills in English and/orArabic Ability and willingness to travel acrossthe Globe withoutlimitation Desiredqualification Abilityto read, interpret tender/contract documents, schematics,procedures and policy guidelines Ability toLead, guide and coach the team Ability topresent technical solutions to customer and identify possibleworkaround solution for an issue SolutionOriented, Team Player with Strong CommunicationSkills Health, Safety & Environmentalrequirements for engineering activities Theability to work under pressure and with tightschedule AdditionalInformation Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes
