Position: Operator – PCBA Inspection
Location: Shamshabad, Hyderabad
We are
seeking a detail-oriented Operator – PCBA Inspection to perform visual
and dimensional inspection of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs),
including SMT and Through-Hole (THT) assemblies. The successful
candidate will be responsible for identifying defects, verifying assembly
quality against applicable standards and manufacturing documentation, and
supporting production teams in maintaining high-quality products.
The role
requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of IPC-A-610, good
understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, and the ability to work
effectively in a quality-focused environment. Experience in aerospace,
defense, or other high-reliability electronics manufacturing is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspection of
PCBAs, including SMT and Through-Hole assemblies, using magnification
equipment, microscopes, and appropriate inspection tools.
- Inspect solder joints,
component placement, polarity, orientation, markings, lead condition, and
overall workmanship in accordance with IPC-A-610 requirements.
- Identify and document
defects including:
- Solder
bridges
- Insufficient
or excessive solder
- Cold
or disturbed solder joints
- Missing
or incorrect components
- Incorrect
component orientation or polarity
- Damaged
components
- Lifted
or misaligned leads
- PCB
and assembly workmanship defects
- Verify PCBA assemblies
against BOMs, assembly drawings, Gerber prints, schematics, work
instructions, and other manufacturing documents.
- Perform incoming,
in-process, and final inspections of PCB assemblies.
- Record inspection results
accurately in inspection reports or quality management systems.
- Segregate and identify
nonconforming material in accordance with established procedures.
- Report quality issues and
communicate defects to Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
- Support root-cause
investigation and corrective actions for recurring defects.
- Verify reworked or repaired
PCBAs to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
- Follow ESD handling,
grounding, and workstation requirements while handling electronic
assemblies.
- Maintain inspection
equipment and ensure tools are used correctly and within applicable
calibration requirements.
- Maintain accurate inspection
records and ensure product traceability.
- Follow company quality
procedures, safety requirements, work instructions, and applicable AS9100 requirements.
- Support continuous
improvement activities related to PCBA quality and inspection processes.
Required Qualifications
- 4–5 years of experience in PCBA inspection within an electronics
manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on knowledge of SMT
and Through-Hole assembly processes.
- Working knowledge of IPC-A-610; Class 3 knowledge/experience is preferred.
- Understanding of AS9100
Quality Management System requirements is preferred.
- Experience using inspection
equipment such as:
- Magnifiers
- Microscopes
- Measuring
instruments
- Other
electronic assembly inspection tools
- Ability to read and
interpret BOMs, assembly drawings, Gerber prints, work instructions,
and manufacturing documentation.
- Understanding of ESD
handling and protection requirements.
- Basic computer skills for
entering and maintaining inspection results.
- Strong attention to detail
and a quality-focused mindset.
- Good communication and
interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work
independently as well as effectively with Production, Engineering, and
Quality teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace,
defense, medical, automotive, or other high-reliability electronics
manufacturing.
- IPC-A-610 certification or
formal training.
- Experience with Class 3
electronic assemblies.
- Familiarity with
nonconformance reporting, corrective action, and quality documentation.
- Experience with automated
optical inspection (AOI) or other PCBA inspection systems.
