Job
Description:
1. To perform utility estimation based on the utility requirements of
process equipment, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems,
and other equipment.
2. To perform load balancing of utility systems and capacity analysis of
utility equipment.
3. To assist in determining utility capacity requirements and selecting
equipment based on utility estimation and capacity analysis.
4. To prepare utility area layouts and equipment sizing details based on utility
equipment selection and space planning.
5. To prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
6. To
prepare Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;).
7. To assist in pipe routing and the preparation of isometric drawings.
8. To assist in preparing
cross-sectional views of pipe racks along with piping layouts.
9. To assist in calculating pump head, determining pipe size, Material of
Construction (MOC), and performing valve sizing and selection based on the
properties of fluids and process media.
10. To prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on approved designs and
layouts.
11. To
assist in preparing technical specifications and data sheets for all utility
and piping equipment and components.
12. To coordinate with vendors and internal departments such as HVAC,
Electrical, and Project Management to obtain the data required for utility and
piping design.
13. To contribute to the development of
creative design ideas in utility and piping engineering and stay updated with the latest technologies, industry
standards, and engineering practices.

Knowledge:
1. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability
to use it as required.

3. Basic knowledge of utility equipment
types, specifications, and selection criteria.
4. Basic knowledge of utility and process
equipment, their components, and associated vendors and manufacturers.
5. Basic
knowledge of utility systems, piping design, equipment selection, and relevant engineering
calculations.
6. Basic knowledge of piping systems,
fittings, valves, instrumentation, applicable codes, and industry standards.
Preferred
Knowledge:
1. Familiarity with
the pharmaceutical industry, particularly with utility and process systems used
in pharmaceutical facilities.
2. Basic
understanding of pharmaceutical process flows.
3. Exposure to the
preparation and interpretation of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;)
for utility and process equipment.
4. Basic
understanding of applicable engineering standards, codes, and Good
Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
requirements for pharmaceutical projects.
