Performs technical duties related to the preparation and examination of pathological specimens. Screens pathological specimens and prepares preliminary diagnostic assessment. Performs gross examination of surgical specimens and prepares them for further processing and examination. Acts as resource person and resolves problems. Maintain equipment. Maintain records.
Responsibilities
- Organize work by matching computer orders on HINAI software with specimen labeling; sorting specimens; checking labeling; logging specimens; arranging reports for delivery; keeping work surfaces clean and orderly.
- Independent testing by the technician on the various instruments in core and wet labs, after proper training done under the supervision of pathologist.
- Maintain quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced trouble shooting; calibrating and testing equipment utilizing approved testing procedures SOPs; monitoring quality control measures and protocols, maintains turn over time.
- Ensure that the reports are certified by the authorized signatories as soon as the results are inter-phased
- Construct, maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment, for example centrifuges, pipetting machines and pH meters.
- Ensure adequate required stock and resourced.
- Record and sometimes interpret results to present to senior colleagues.
- Perform mathematical calculations for the preparation of graphs; Keep updating the knowledge with the latest technical developments,
especially those which can save time and improve reliability.
- Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks.
- Collects and to report incidences in the Lab and help in taking the corrective actions appropriately.
Quality Control

- Immediate action whenever any deviation is found during theprocess

Working conditions
- Work in different shifts of 8 houminutes in rotation
- Extended hours may be required
- Expected to be on call in case there is any emergency in night
