Academic Counsellor Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and student-focused Academic Counsellor to join the Intellea team. The role involves understanding students' career goals, guiding them toward suitable learning programs, handling enquiries and leads, and supporting them throughout the admission journey.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a consultative approach, and a genuine interest in helping students make informed career decisions.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Student Counselling: Understand students' academic background, career aspirations, interests, and learning requirements to recommend suitable programs.
- Lead Management: Handle inbound and outbound leads, respond to enquiries, and effectively communicate Intellea's courses and offerings.
- Course Guidance: Explain course structure, curriculum, duration, learning outcomes, career opportunities, and other relevant program details.
- Follow-ups: Maintain consistent and timely follow-ups with prospective students through calls, WhatsApp, email, and other communication channels.
- Admission Support: Guide students through the complete enrollment process, from initial enquiry to registration and onboarding.
- Query Resolution: Address student and parent queries professionally and provide accurate information regarding programs, fees, schedules, and learning support.
- Conversion & Target Achievement: Work toward counselling, enrollment, and conversion targets while maintaining a high-quality student experience.




- CRM & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of leads, conversations, follow-ups, counselling status, and admissions in the designated CRM/system.
- Student Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with prospective and enrolled students and ensure a smooth transition from counselling to the academic team.
- Feedback & Coordination: Gather student feedback and coordinate with sales, academic, and operations teams to improve the overall learner experience.
- Market & Student Insights: Stay updated on relevant career trends, industry requirements, and student preferences to provide more effective guidance.

- Confident in handling phone calls and student interactions.
- Ability to understand student needs and provide consultative guidance.
- Strong persuasion, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable working with targets and performance metrics.
- Basic knowledge of CRM systems, Google Workspace, or similar tools.
- Prior experience in academic counselling, education sales, inside sales, telecalling, or student admissions is preferred.
