Miles IT is looking for a hands-on Lead Database Administrator to take ownership of our database architecture, performance tuning, data security, and ongoing database health. In this role, you will serve as the primary database subject matter expert, partnering with software development and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and optimal query performance.

Key Technical Environment:

- Database Systems: Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL (or specify your actual database stack)
- Core Focus: Query optimization, database design, backup/recovery, security, and schema management.
- Work Style: Fully Remote with high technical autonomy.

What Youll Do:

- Lead the design, monitoring, and maintenance of production and non-production database environments.
- Analyze database performance, identify bottlenecks, and execute query and index optimizations.
- Implement robust backup,



restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with software developers to review database schemas, stored procedures, and migration scripts.
- Ensure database security, compliance, access controls, and data integrity standards across systems.

What Were Looking For:

- 4+ years of hands-on experience in Database Administration (DBA) or Database Engineering.
- Strong expertise in relational database management systems (RDBMS) and query performance tuning.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex performance issues, deadlocks, and high resource utilization.
- High self-discipline and solid communication skills to operate effectively in a remote environment.
