Position: Technical Engineer / Service Engineer – AV & Home Automation

Department: Technical / Projects / Service

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience: 1–4 Years preferred

Qualification: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, ECE, Instrumentation, or relevant technical qualification

About the Role

Visionic Integrated Technologies Private Limited is looking for a technically strong and hands-on Technical Engineer / Service Engineer to join its growing Audio-Visual, Home Automation and Smart Technology business.

The candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, servicing and customer support across Visionic’s AV and home technology solutions.

The role is primarily field-oriented and requires the ability to independently handle customer sites, installations and technical service requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Audio-Visual Installation

- Installation and commissioning of Interactive Flat Panels (IFP)
- Active LED and professional display installation
- Digital signage systems
- Digital standees and kiosks
- Video conferencing systems
- PTZ cameras
- Professional audio systems
- Speakers, amplifiers and microphones
- Wireless presentation systems
- AV peripherals and accessories
- AV cabling, termination and connectivity
- Basic networking for AV systems

The Visionic execution plan specifically identifies IFP, LED/display, digital signage, video conferencing, PTZ cameras, audio systems and wireless presentation as part of the installation engineer’s responsibility.

2. Home Automation

The engineer should develop practical knowledge of:

- Smart switches
- Touch panels
- Smart sensors
- Lighting automation
- Curtain/blind automation
- Smart locks
- Video door phones
- Gate automation
- Access-control systems
- Home automation controllers
- Wi-Fi and network connectivity
- Basic IoT devices
- Configuration and commissioning of automation systems





The position should be hands-on rather than purely theoretical.

3. Home Theatre & Audio Systems

Support installation and commissioning of:

- Projectors
- Projection screens
- Large-format displays
- AV receivers
- Amplifiers
- Speakers
- Subwoofers
- Dolby Atmos systems
- Home theatre processors
- Media players
- HDMI/network connectivity
- Acoustic-related equipment
- Theatre automation and control

The existing Visionic staffing plan explicitly includes home theatre alongside AV and home automation.

4. Installation & Site Execution

- Visit customer sites
- Understand site requirements
- Check site readiness
- Coordinate with electricians, carpenters, interior teams and other contractors
- Mount and install equipment
- Cable routing
- Cable termination
- Equipment configuration
- System integration
- Testing
- Commissioning
- Final demonstration to customer
- Site handover

The supporting technician role in the Visionic plan includes mounting, cabling, termination, display/LED installation support, speaker installation and home-automation installation support.

5. Troubleshooting & Service

- Attend customer complaints and service calls
- Diagnose technical problems
- Identify root cause
- Rectify installation/configuration issues
- Troubleshoot AV equipment
- Troubleshoot connectivity/networking issues
- Troubleshoot home automation systems
- Replace/reconfigure faulty components where required
- Conduct preventive maintenance
- Ensure minimum repeat service calls
- Escalate OEM-level issues when necessary

6. Testing & Commissioning

Before handover, the engineer should verify:

- Power and connectivity




- Display functionality
- Audio functionality
- Video signal
- HDMI/network connectivity
- Camera functionality
- Microphone/audio pickup
- Wireless presentation
- Automation scenes
- Lighting controls
- Curtain controls
- Smart locks/door devices
- Overall system integration

7. Customer Support

- Explain system operation to customers
- Conduct product demonstrations
- Train customers/basic operators
- Respond professionally to technical queries
- Maintain positive customer relationships
- Ensure successful project handover
- Follow up after installation where required

8. Documentation

Maintain:

- Installation reports
- Service reports
- Commissioning reports
- Site photographs
- Equipment details
- Serial numbers
- Configuration records
- Warranty information
- Customer sign-off
- Pending-service reports
